Abstract/Summary:
Currently, how to "strengthen the communication and integration of various ethnic groups, and forge a strong sense of Chinese national community" has become a new era topic.A hundred and ten years ago, there were such a group of unique minority youth in the border areas, who enthusiastically joined the ranks of students, with footprints throughout the mainland.Students from different ethnic groups live in a crisscrossed ivory tower, highlighting the close emotional connection and brotherhood of different members of the Chinese National Community.Using methods such as literature review, induction, and case studies, this article is dedicated to describing the actual situation of communication and integration among various ethnic groups based on border students during the Republic of China period. The full text is mainly divided into three parts. The first chapter discusses how border students in different periods of the Republic of China were organized and mobilized.Influenced by the preferential policies of the rulers of the ancient Central Plains dynasty, and due to the unique ethnic identity of border students, successive central governments of the Republic of China have taken these minority students as preferential targets for the integration of border ethnic basic projects, and introduced many relevant measures at different levels, such as policy incentives and institutional safeguards,Among them, the various measures taken by the Nanjing National Government after its establishment were the most perfect, receiving positive responses from local and non-governmental forces. The second chapter starts with concrete practice, clarifying the basic situation of daily life of border students during their study in the mainland, and reflecting the normalization of ethnic communication among border students.Among them, the campus has become a cultural space for students from different ethnic groups to communicate and blend. It not only serves as the main place for frontier students to acquire knowledge in the mainland, but also serves as their daily living quarters, specifically reflected in the integration of dietary customs and the acquisition of Mandarin and Chinese among students from different ethnic groups; On the other hand, border students also have the opportunity to go out of school and experience social life in the mainland through off-campus internships, social services, and participation in various gatherings, commemorations, and cultural and sports activities, while engaging in multi-level interactions with the mainland society. The third chapter attempts to explore how these mainland educated border students express and practice community awareness through several typical cases. Thanks to their experience of studying in the mainland, border students have experienced a process of "understanding through observation" and "uniting through understanding" in their understanding of the mainland society. They also have a relatively clear understanding of the "Sino Yi relationship" in history and the ethnic relationships they face, and identify with the unity of the Chinese nation from the depths of their hearts. In addition, reviewing the historical memories of border students, they successfully achieved transcendence over their original blood and ethnic groups, demonstrated an integration trend of dual identification with the nation and China at the practical level, expressed the commonality between ethnic groups through personal experience, and promoted the process of communication and integration between border areas and the mainland. This study shows that the learning, communication, and exchange of border students in the mainland during the Republic of China period played an important bridge role in establishing closer ties between young students living in border areas and people living in the mainland, and promoting the exchange and integration of ethnic groups. The history of harmonious interaction, coexistence and prosperity between border youth, represented by border students, and mainland society has become a part of the history of common development and prosperity of all ethnic groups in China, and is also a strong evidence of the continuous improvement of the centripetal and cohesive forces of the Chinese nation.
