Since Sigmund Freud,an Austrian psychologist,created his school of psychoanalysis in the late 19 th century,many systematic theories and practices focusing on the clues of deep psychological development,such as "subconscious" and "personality structure",have been entering into and giving full play to their profound connotation and important value in the psychological standard and related fields.It also opens a new door for people to understand and comment on the inner exploration of human psychological activities and artistic expression.German composer Richard Strauss presented Salome to the opera stage at the turn of the last century through his bold,fresh and eclectic musical depiction,making the image of a young woman who came out of the Bible appear again in the public eye after centuries of rewriting and depicting.As a distinct artistic theme,compared with the literary drama framework of Wilde’s Salome,the female role of Salome’s "desire","rebellion" and other maverick personalities have been more fully and visually presented in Strauss’ s opera.Based on the character evolution of the protagonist Salome,this paper tries to use Freud’s psychoanalytic theory as the methodology to analyze the internal motivation and root of the psychological behavior development trend of the female figure Salome in the opera by taking part of the music processing of Strauss as the clue. |
