Research On Drug Crimes Of Female Drug Addicts And Countermeasures In China

The drug problem is a worldwide topic and a recognized problem.The situation is not to be taken lightly as drug crimes are emerging and growing mainly among female drug addicts.Women’s social roles as well as physical and mental characteristics are different from men’s,once they take drugs and commit drug crimes,they not only bring harm to themselves,but also to their children’s healthy growth,family harmony and stability,even bring harm to our social stability and economic development.Therefore,it is necessary to include this type of drug crimes of female drug addicts in the field of criminology research.In this paper,we use literature research,statistical analysis and interview method to sort out the drug crimes of female drug addicts in the past five years on the China Judgment Online,and summarize the current situation and characteristics of them in combination with in-depth interviews,analyze the causes of drug crimes of female drug addicts at four levels: individual,social,drug treatment and legal.This paper mainly covers the following aspects.Part Ⅰ: Defining the scope of study.The first is to define the core concepts related to drug crimes of female drug addicts,and to distinguish traditional drug crimes from new drug crimes according to different classification criteria in order to clarify the research target;the second is to explore the correlation between female drug addicts and drug crimes.According to the relevant studies by domestic and foreign scholars,there is indeed a high correlation between the two,and women are more likely to commit drug crimes after taking drugs.Part Ⅱ: Discussing the current situation of drug crimes of female drug addicts and its characteristics.Through the quantitative description of 387 cases of drug crimes of female drug addicts collected on the China Judgment Online and the related criminology indicators of 421 female drug addicts who commit drug crimes,as well as the in-depth interviews of 21 interviewees,we analyze the current situation of drug crimes of female drug addicts and their related characteristics in terms of criminal subjects,crime types,crime means,and drugs involved.Part Ⅲ: Analyzing the causes of drug crimes of female drug addicts.From the perspective of the causes of drug crimes in a broad sense,we analyze why the subjects of this type of drug crimes are female drug addicts and why they commit drug crimes.At the individual level,individual psychological imbalance,the role of special physiological factors,and the demand for "trafficking to feed drug addiction" are important individual factors for female drug addicts to commit drug crimes;at the social level,bad intimate relationships,drug subculture,and social exclusion are important social triggers for female drug addicts to commit drug crimes;at the level of drug treatment,the effectiveness of drug treatment largely determines whether female drug addicts return to society smoothly after receiving drug treatment or return to the circle of drug friends and commit drug crimes under their influence.From a legal perspective,the increased difficulty of anti-drug enforcement by public security organs and the greater risk of temporary release from prison for special women may increase their risk of recidivism to a certain extent.Part Ⅳ: Exploring the prevention and control measures of drug crimes of female drug addicts.Combining the characteristics and causes of drug crimes of female drug addicts,countermeasures are proposed in terms of enhancing individual drug awareness among female drug addicts,strengthening the social support system for female drug addicts,optimizing the methods and effects of anti-drug publicity and education,improving the level and effectiveness of drug treatment,and perfecting anti-drug criminal justice.Specifically,first,female drug addicts should establish correct values and actively channel their negative emotions,and also strengthen family and social anti-drug publicity and education for women to continuously raise their anti-drug awareness.Second,the role of social organizations such as women’s federations should be fully utilized,and welfare measures should be deeply integrated into women’s social security to continuously promote a better social support system for female drug addicts.Third,in drug treatment,we should pay attention to the problem of female drug addicts "heart addiction" and provide psychological guidance to female drug addicts in multiple roles such as therapist,supporter,and guide,promote women’s social work interventions,promote peer education service models,and draw on the female protection observation system to continuously optimize a people-oriented,scientific,effective,and caring drug treatment system.We should continue to optimize the human-centered,scientific,effective,and caring drug treatment system for female drug addicts.Finally,we should improve the dynamic control mechanism for female drug addicts,crack down on female drug addicts with a more specialized anti-drug police force,and ensure the fairness and efficiency of judicial trials on the basis of fully reflecting the principle of individualization of punishment,while taking into full consideration the special characteristics of female drug addicts and strengthening the classification correction,so as to achieve the purpose of general and special prevention.
