English Titlea Study Of Turkish Refugee Diplomacy Since The Syrian Crisis

The refugee crisis has always been a major problem in today’s global governance,especially in the context of the accelerated development of globalization,the refugee problem has long gone beyond the scope of humanitarianism and become a major global political challenge.The issue of international refugees has become increasingly "political",and "refugee politicization" has long been a phenomenon that can not be ignored in international relations,one of the outstanding manifestations of which is that the countries concerned take the initiative to carry out "refugee diplomacy" with the help of the refugee issue.After the outbreak of the Syrian crisis in 2011,a large number of Syrian refugees fled to other countries to seek asylum,resulting in another large-scale refugee crisis in human history,affecting the surrounding areas of Syria and European countries.Turkey is the largest recipient of Syrian refugees and an important transit country for Syrian refugees to Europe,and its role in refugee governance is crucial.Under the background of increasingly prominent refugee pressure and diplomatic dilemma,Turkey takes the advantage of the refugee crisis to improve its status in the Syrian issue and its relations with Europe,and actively carries out refugee diplomacy,taking the refugee issue as an important justification to interfere in Syrian affairs and a key entry point of the game with the European Union,making the refugee issue to serve its pursuit of geopolitical interests,great power status and national security.Starting from the Syrian refugee crisis,this paper explains Turkey’s refugee policy and its characteristics,studies how Turkey uses the refugee issue to carry out "refugee diplomacy" respectively at the level of its surrounding countries and the European Union in this refugee crisis,and analyzes the methods,motives and impacts of its refugee diplomacy,as well as its implications for refugee governance.
