| The continuous transformation today,particularly in technological innovation in new goods and services,necessitates a rethinking of how organizations treat their employees.Organizations cannot operate in the absence of motivation and workers will not undertake to their full potential,and the organization’s performance will suffer.In underdeveloped nations,where working conditions are appalling,the situation is exacerbated.Lower educational,inadequate infrastructure,and a poor road system have plagued Ghana’s north-western region,causing concern among many people,particularly those from the north.The causes for this situation were indeed probably partially because of the slow advancement of the north.In spite of this,the goal of this research is to investigate the impact of motivation on the performance in Ghana’s public service.The aim of this research is to look into the effects of desire on workers job performance.The paper reviewed several need and motivation concepts in order to clarify what factors may influence employee motivation.Workers who are more motivated at work are more pleased and are less likely to leave the organization,whereas de-motivated workers have a negative effect on productivity.Workers(staff)of the University for Development Studies(UDS)at its Wa Campus in Ghana’s North-West Region,in particular.For this research,a case study approach is used.Methods like stratified sampling and subjective sampling,which are both descriptive and analytical in nature,are used for this research.This research will once again seek to determine whether the motivation packages provided to UDS Wa Campus employees are adequate.This has been exemplified by a lack of apartment buildings and transportation for employees.Senior employees are compensated with a proficient stipend,a journal and inquiry stipends,free healthcare,an off-campus stipends,and an amusement stipend.They expressed dissatisfaction with the available funds.Senior and junior staff on the other hand,are only entitled to free healthcare.According to the research,the preferred form of motivation for workers was monetary rewards and a pleasant working environment.Absenteeism,low efficiency,Attendance and high labor turnover are the consequences of low motivation on the Wa Campus.As an outcome,the research suggests that management work with Ghana Education Trust Fund and other funding organizations,such as Habitant Alliance,to construct housing scheme for employees and to hold end-of-year special events to encourage employees.These can assist management in improving employee motivation strategies. |
