| Tibetan is an equal member of the large family of the Chinese nation, and is one of the ethnic minority groups in our country with a population of one million, which has a long history and unique folk culture and religious culture. The progressive development of Tibetan society is not only related to ethnic unity and border stability, but also to Chinese Dream,so this paper studies the progressive development of Tibetan society from the perspective of population.Based on the data of national population censuses since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, this paper adopts the methods of literature analysis, statistical modeling, comparative analysis, survey and analysis, and is guided by the theories of demographics and ethnic demography, this paper first analyzes the current size and changes of the Tibetan population in our country, and then quantitatively analyzes the distribution of the Tibetan population and the development and changes of the Tibetan society from a demographics perspective, thus, the Comprehensive Evaluation Index System of population development is constructed, and the development level of Tibetan population in our country is further compared and analyzed.Based on the above analysis, the main conclusions of this paper are as follows:First, between 2010 and 2020,the growth rate of the Tibetan population in our country was relatively fast, faster than the national average of the total population, the Han population and the ethnic minorities, and the Tibetan population is developing towards population ageing; At present, the general fertility rate of the Tibetan population in our country is higher than the national average level and the average level of the minority population, during this decade, the average life expectancy of the Tibetan population in our country is still lower than the national average and the average for ethnic minorities, the increase of the average life expectancy of the Tibetan population in our country exceeds the average of the whole country, the Han and the ethnic minority groups.Second, the Tibetan population of our country is mainly distributed in the western regions. From 2010 to 2020,the population of Tibetans in the 31 province-level division of China showed a positive growth trend,at the same time, there may have been a large-scale migration of the Tibetan population to more developed areas such as provincial capitals. The proportion of the Tibetan population with higher education is close to the national average, but there is a larger gap between the general illiteracy rate and the national average;among the employed Tibetans, the largest proportion is employed in the primary industry;Higher than the national,Han and minority average;the occupation structure of the Tibetan, except for agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fisheries production and auxiliary personnel in the proportion of a substantial reduction, the proportion of other types of working population has increased to a certain extent;the mobility of the Tibetan population is weak, and it is mainly within the province, among the five provinces and regions where the Tibetan population is mainly concentrated, the mobility of the Tibetan population is weakest in Tibetan Autonomous Region and strongest in Qinghai province, and the urbanization of the Tibetan population in our country is still below the national and ethnic average,of the five provinces and regions where the majority of Tibetans live,Tibet has the lowest urbanization rate and Qinghai the highest.Third,in the past ten years, the health level of the Tibetan population in China has been greatly improved, and the educational quality of the Tibetan population has also been improved to a certain extent, but it is still relatively backward compared with other ethnic minorities in China; The population structure of Tibetan in our country is relatively balanced, which accords with the law of population development.According to the comprehensive score of the population development level, the population development level of the Tibetan in our country still lags behind the overall level of the total population and the ethnic minority groups in our country, however, the development level of Tibetan population in our country has been greatly improved in the past ten years.Fourth, while I was teaching,I conducted a survey and interview on the development of the Tibetan population in the nearby city of Naqu in Tibet, and gained a more intuitive understanding of the changes in the Tibetan population. In the past ten years in Tibet, the quality of the population, transportation, medical care and other social infrastructure conditions have been greatly improved, per capita family income has been further increased, material conditions have been guaranteed, and the education level of the whole family has been raised, the employment problem of the members of the family has been effectively solved, the people of other ethnic groups get along better, and the population development level of Tibet has been greatly improved. The findings of the study also support the conclusions of the analysis based on national census data. |
