Vocational education has a history of over 100 years in China.,in the course of its development,vocational education has trained a large number of skilled talents for all walks of life in China,leading to the development of the industry and the prosperity of the regional economy.In the stage of reform and opening up,higher vocational education,as an important part of higher education,has gradually stepped onto the historical stage.With the characteristics of "double starting point,double learning system,double certificate and order form",higher vocational education meets the needs of students at different stages,enables students to learn skills,obtain certificates and solve the employment problem,which is favored by students and parents.At the same time,it greatly meets the employment needs of enterprises and institutions.For a long time,higher vocational education graduates were in short supply,and higher vocational education has achieved rapid development.Under the influence of the enrollment expansion policy of higher education in the 1990s,the employment problem in higher vocational education also appeared.In the current sluggish job market.the employment problem of vocational college graduates is more prominent,which has become an urgent livelihood problem.The employment problem of graduates involves the government,higher vocational colleges,employment market and students.However,in previous studies on promoting the employment of graduates of higher vocational colleges,there are few government actions mentioned.This article attempts to take the government as the main body to carry out research and explore good strategies to promote the employment of vocational college graduates.By combining qualitative and quantitative methods,this paper,based on the relevant concepts and theoretical perspectives of the employment of graduates from vocational colleges,,takes the methods of documentary research,case analysis,questionnaire and interview to describe the current employment situation and the government role according to statistics of 2022 graduates of S College in J City.In this paper,we try to analyze the problems of government in promoting the employment of vocational college graduates,demonstrate how the government can improve the relevant policy mechanism in the future,and put forward constructive suggestions.Through research,this paper finds that the government behavior has the following problems in promoting the employment of vocational college graduates: Firstly,it has not fully played the role of supervision and guidance for vocational colleges.Secondly,it is the lack of a complete employment security system and the ineffective implementation of relevant policies.Thirdly,the fair employment environment needs to be further optimized;Moreover,the informatization level of the employment service platform is not high enough,and the supporting employment services are not standardized;Last but not the least,the policy for expanding employment channels is not strong enough and attractive.Based on the local specific situation,the following countermeasures and suggestions are put forward after analyzing and studying the problems.Firstly,improve the legal guarantee system for the employment of graduates from vocational colleges.Secondly,improve the social security system for the employment of graduates from vocational colleges.Thirdly,take multiple measures to further encourage graduates from vocational colleges to start their own businesses.At last,promote the employment service system for graduates from vocational colleges.
