Self-consciousness is the consciousness with one’s own life and activities as the object, which is a basic philosophical concept, and is also the essence of Hegel’s philosophical thought. In Hegel’s phenomenology of spirit,self-consciousness has the characteristic of active creativity, which manifests itself as self-knowledge in the process of self-realization.While absorbing Hegel’s methodology of the negation of Hegel’s pure dialectics of self-consciousness,he replaced Hegel’s movement of self-consciousness with actual human activities, and thus regarded the development of human history as natural history.the process of.Marx sublated Hegel’s theory of self-consciousness,introduced the categories of labor, practice, etc.,overcame the abstract development of self-consciousness,carried out materialistic transformation on it,and further pointed out the source、essence and direction of self-consciousness.The social revolution in Britain based on the social principle of interest, the political revolution in France based on the principle of freedom and rationality, and the philosophical revolution in Germany based on the principle of self-consciousness provided the economic, political and philosophical soil for the emergence of Marx’s theory of self-consciousness.On this basis,Marx criticized the self-consciousness that was divorced from reality and the abstract self-consciousness of freedom and equality, and sublated the idea of externalization of self-consciousness.The method expounds the generation, development and ultimate value appeal of self-consciousness.On the basis of his critique of Hegel’s theory of civil society,Marx made a general rational analysis of the self-consciousness in bourgeois civil society,as well as a concrete critique in reality. While constructing the philosophy of the liberation of the proletariat,Marx is committed to starting from the proletariat’s revolutionary action in itself, which is a product of the capitalist mode of production, and elevates the abolition of the private property system to a social principle,so as to realize the free joint labor of the proletariat On the basis of each person’s free and comprehensive development.Marx’s theory of self-consciousness adheres to the philosophical standpoint of the unity of reason and reality, and has the characteristics of being critical, realistic, developing and revolutionary from the very beginning.Because of this, under the historical conditions of the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics, the study of Marx’s theory of self-consciousness has important value and significance, which can deepen our understanding of Marxist theory and the theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics. It is also an expression of people’s own in trinsic value scale, which is conducive to promoting the free and comprehensive development of individuals. At the same time, the cultivation and practice of socialist core values, the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind, and the stimulation of the vitality of the socialist market economy are all important have a positive impact.
