A Study On The Comprehensive Evaluation Of The Better Living Standard Of Chinese People

The concept of a better life has a long history.The pursuit of a better life is an eternal topic of mankind.China has made many explorations on the issue of a better life.As China has built a well-off society in an all-round way,a better life has increasingly become the aspiration of the masses.In particular,the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China included the need for a better life in the report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,which strengthened the determination and confidence of the people throughout the country to pursue a better life.This paper first sorts out the current domestic and foreign literature on the good life,summarizes the connotation,realistic characteristics,realization path and statistical measurement of the good life,and finds that most qualitative studies on the good life are conducted at present,while the literature on quantitative measurement of the people’s good living standard is relatively rare.By referring to relevant literature,this paper finally selects 29 secondary indicators including per capita GDP and per capita disposable income from the four dimensions of economic development level,people’s wellbeing level,ecological environmental protection level and spiritual and cultural level to build an indicator system for measuring people’s better living standards.Secondly,according to the evaluation index system constructed,the comprehensive evaluation and analysis of the people’s better living standards in 30 provinces,cities and autonomous regions(except Tibet,Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan)in China are carried out.Based on the entropy weight method,the changes of people’s living standards in different provinces are studied vertically,and the differences of people’s living standards in different provinces are compared horizontally,explained from four dimensions,and the sources of these differences are analyzed.Finally,on the basis of the comprehensive score of the entropy weight method of each province,we use MATLAB to cluster the provinces in China.The final conclusion is that the development of our people’s better living standards is unbalanced,with regional differences.On the whole,the living standards of the people in the eastern region are higher than those in other regions.In addition,the economic development level,people’s wellbeing level,ecological and environmental protection level,and spiritual and cultural level within each province also show a trend of unbalanced development.There is a phenomenon of neglecting one and losing the other.According to the research conclusions obtained,targeted suggestions are given to achieve a better life for the people and eliminate unbalanced development: China needs to strengthen regional coordinated development,increase policy guidance and financial support to the central,western and northeastern regions,and catch up with the pace of development in the east as soon as possible;For each province,it is necessary to achieve all-round construction and development of economic construction,people’s livelihood construction,ecological construction,spiritual construction,etc.,and eliminate the imbalance of internal development.
