| On May 17,2022,Wu Yan,director of the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education,said at a press conference that my country has built the world’s largest higher education system,and higher education has entered a stage of universalization recognized by the world.With the rapid development of higher education,the problem of the quality of personnel training in universities has become increasingly prominent,and the problem of insufficient teaching investment of college teachers has always existed.In the "Implementation Plan for Undergraduate Education and Teaching Review and Evaluation in Ordinary Colleges and Universities(2021-2025)" issued in 2021,it is clearly required to review teachers’ teaching investment to meet the needs of talent training.Young teachers are an important part of the teaching team in universities.They are in the front line of talent training,and their teaching investment is directly related to the quality of student training.At present,the research on the teaching investment of young teachers in universities is not rich,and the indirect related research mainly focuses on the research on the current situation of the development of young teachers in universities,the research on the teaching ability of young teachers in universities,the research on the relationship between teaching and research,and the research on the time allocation of college teachers.The "double first-class" universities pay more attention to scientific research than teaching.In view of the particularity of young teachers and their important position in the ranks of college teachers,it is valuable to explore their teaching input alone.This paper is based on the data survey of one of the two "double first-class" universities in Chongqing.After collecting and arranging the relevant research results in the academic circle,this paper defines the core concepts of young teachers and teaching investment in universities,and uses the theoretical knowledge of public management learned to design a questionnaire and interview outline related to the teaching investment of college teachers.The cultural environment of universities,the material environment of universities,the spirit of teaching professionalism,the sense of teaching achievement,the multiple roles,the attitude of students,the teaching situation,the characteristics of teaching,and the social environment,taking a "double first-class" university in Chongqing as the specific object,to investigate the teaching investment of young teachers in universities.The current situation,compare and analyze the differences and reasons of the teaching investment of young teachers and middle-aged and elderly teachers,explore the problems existing in the teaching investment of young teachers in universities,and try to put forward suggestions and countermeasures to improve the teaching investment of young teachers.Through statistical analysis,based on the research on the teaching investment of young teachers in Chongqing’s "double first-class" universities,the following conclusions are drawn: First,compared with middle-aged and elderly teachers,young teachers have lower explicit teaching investment in time,money,materials and other aspects,and lower implicit teaching investment in energy,emotion and other aspects;Second,the multiple roles of scientific research,administrative affairs,public service,family life and so on have different degrees of influence on young teachers’ teaching investment,but the biggest influence comes from the pressure of scientific research;Third,most teachers believe that their professional ethics and dedication support their teaching input,and the material benefits or other benefits that can be obtained through teaching are too low to be an important driving force for teaching input;Fourth,the vast majority of teachers believe that their efforts and achievements in teaching work are not matched with recognition.In order to improve the current situation of young teachers’ investment in teaching,it is suggested that from the government level: First,change the orientation of emphasizing scientific research over teaching,and give preference from the policy;Second,ensure the investment of teaching funds in the "post epidemic period" and improve the material benefits of teaching investment;Third,ease the life pressure and solve practical difficulties for young teachers;Fourth,we should increase the publicity and experience promotion of outstanding young teachers and create a good environment for the whole society to attach importance to teaching.From the school level: First,reform the classroom teaching evaluation system to avoid the essential role of simple scoring and fuzzy teaching evaluation;Second,enhance young teachers’ sense of teaching achievement,and provide various support for the improvement of young teachers’ teaching ability;Third,set up teaching models among young teachers and guide young teachers to attach importance to their own teaching work. |
