| Digital economy is widely used in social life,improving economic efficiency and promoting the transformation of economic structure.The deep integration of the digital economy with many industries and fields has created a wide range of employment forms.Based on this,this paper takes digital economy and female employment as the research object to explore the relationship between digital economy and female employment.Through literature review,this paper summarizes scholars’ research on digital economy and female employment,then summarizes theories related to female employment,discusses the influence mechanism of digital economy on female employment,and then collects panel information of 30 provinces from 2011 to 2020 to calculate the development level of digital economy.In addition,the development trend of female employment from 2011 to 2020 is analyzed.Finally,the fixed effect model is constructed for basic regression,moderating effect analysis and heterogeneity analysis,which enricicates the basic theoretical research related to the development of digital economy and society and female employment,and is of great significance for promoting the development of digital economy and society to promote female employment.The following conclusions are drawn:(1)On the whole,the proportion of female employment has increased;By region,the proportion of female employment in eastern China is the largest,while that in central and western China is relatively low.By industry,the proportion of female employment in tertiary industry is the largest;By age group,the proportion of women aged 25-39 in employment is the largest;In terms of education level,the proportion of female employment with primary and junior high school education is the largest,but the proportion of stage is gradually declining,while the proportion of female employment with junior college education or above is rising.In terms of average weekly hours,the average weekly working hours for women did not change much,exceeding 44 hours per year.(2)The entropy weight method is used to measure the development level of digital economy,and the results show that the overall development level of digital economy has been on the rise.From the perspective of regions,the development of digital economy in the eastern region is relatively fast,while that in the central and western regions is relatively slow.From the perspective of provinces,the top provinces are basically eastern coastal cities,among which the digital economy development index of Guangdong Province ranks the first.Beijing,Jiangsu,Zhejiang and Shanghai followed.The laggarians were Inner Mongolia,Xinjiang,Gansu,Ningxia and Qinghai,all of which are central and western regions.There was a big difference in the index of developed and underdeveloped provinces.(3)The empirical results show that,on the whole,digital economy has a significant promoting effect on female employment.Through the moderating effect,it can be verified that the promoting effect of digital economy on female employment is regulated by the level of education,and the improvement of the level of education will strengthen the promoting effect of digital economy on female employment.Regionally,the digital economy has the most significant and strongest promoting effect on female employment in the eastern region,while the central and western regions have a significant but less powerful promoting effect on female employment than the eastern region.In terms of education level,digital economy has a strong promoting effect on the employment of women with high school education or above,but has a relatively weak promoting effect on the employment of women in primary and junior high schools.In conclusion,some suggestions are put forward: First,we should vigorously develop the digital economy in the central and western regions.We will increase investment in digital infrastructure,implement relevant digital economy policies,provide more jobs for female workers,and promote female employment in the central and western regions.Second,improve women’s education level and strengthen women’s logical thinking ability.Encourage women to study computer programming and other related content,and gain a deeper understanding of digital technology to enhance women’s competitiveness.Third,explore the flexible employment system and improve the social security system.So that women can give full play to their talents in the job market,promote women’s employment and protect women’s rights and interests. |
