| Performance is the driving force and goal of all organizations’ development,and the effectiveness and quality of the work carried out by the employees play an important role in the organization’s development.From the available studies,employee’s job satisfaction directly affects the efficiency and quality of their work.In the study of job satisfaction,the domestic starts late and the awareness is weak.By reviewing the literature,the research on job satisfaction of employees in domestic public institutions is still relatively lacking,and the research on job satisfaction in China is mainly focused on enterprises,but less research is carried out from the perspective of employees of public institution.In the face of the current situation of low efficiency of domestic public institutions,high brain drain rate and low motivation of employees in public institution,a comprehensive investigation of the level of job satisfaction of employees in public institutions and the factors affecting their job satisfaction will play a positive role in improving the job satisfaction of employees in public institutions,improving the work efficiency of employees in public institutions,better building a service-oriented government,and promoting social harmony and stability.In order to explore the factors that affect the job satisfaction of employees in public institutions,the study was based on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs,Public Service Motivation Theory as well as Equity Theory,and took the employees of public institutions in Yibin City as a sample,adopted semi-structured interview,questionnaire survey and other research methods,while used descriptive statistics,difference analysis and other statistical methods,starting with 9 factors such as job nature,organizational environment,salary and welfare and so on,and designs 15 questions.A formal questionnaire survey was conducted among 208 people in public institutions in Yibin City,covering public institutions in different industries,employees from different age groups,educational levels as well as various job levels,etc.The survey found that the job nature,organizational environment and salary and welfare had a significant positive influence on the job satisfaction of the employees in public institution.Subsequently,taking into account the current situation of low satisfaction of the employees in public institution of Yibin City,the study proposed a few of suggestions to improve the job satisfaction,which can be achieved by encouraging employees to improve themselves,improving the organizational environment,and optimizing the salary and welfares system of public institutions.The study provides a reference for better human resource development and management in the public service sector,as well as an empirical study of job satisfaction in a group of employees in Chinese public institution,and supports the establishment of a corresponding database. |
