A Study On The Self-development Ability Of Rural Left Behind Women

With the acceleration of reform,opening up,and urbanization,a large number of young and middle-aged rural laborers have gone out to work.In recent years,out of the family responsibility of accompanying children and taking care of the elderly,there has been a special left behind group in rural areas,namely rural left behind women,who undertake the dual tasks of taking care of their families and agricultural production.In the context of rural revitalization,rural construction requires the injection of talents and manpower.As an important component of rural areas,left behind women have become the backbone of rural construction in the face of a large loss of male labor force.In order to fully mobilize the work enthusiasm of the majority of left behind women who are idle at home,tap into the development potential of left behind women,assist in rural economic development and rural revitalization,actively undertake the transfer of industries in the eastern region,establish a "Skilled Daughter-in-law" project demonstration base in the vast countryside,and adopt a "central factory+satellite factory" model to sink production workshops to towns and villages,Provide employment at home for left behind women who cannot go out to take care of their families,and provide free skill training and knowledge dissemination to achieve comprehensive improvement of left behind women’s abilities.This article is based on the theory of empowerment and adopts qualitative research methods to collect first-hand data related to the "Skilled Daughter-in-law" project and rural left behind women in S County through interviews and participatory observation.Based on the organization of the collected data,it further explores the dimensions and effectiveness of enhancing the capacity of rural left behind women in S County,and proposes reasonable suggestions for the problems encountered in the specific implementation of the project.As an important demonstration site for the "Skilled Daughter" project,S County in Henan Province has established over 30 "Skilled Daughter" demonstration bases and over 200 processing stations since 2016.The "Skilled Daughter" project enterprises in this county mainly include more than 10 fields such as large-scale planting and breeding,clothing processing,electronic assembly,and food processing,which has driven the employment of more than 20000 left behind women in the county,At the same time,the project also focuses on skill training and cultural education for left behind women.By participating in the project,rural left behind women have improved their economic,cultural,political,social,emotional and other abilities.The implementation of the "Skilled Daughter-in-law" project has driven the employment of rural left behind women,creating platforms and opportunities for their ability improvement.However,some problems have arisen in the local implementation process of the project,weakening the empowerment effect of left behind women.The main problems include low financial support,low project awareness,weak project radiation guidance,poor collaboration among multiple entities,and low comprehensive ability of left behind women.The reasons for this have been found to be excessive reliance on local finance,single publicity methods,weak typical demonstration effects,unclear responsibilities of all parties,solidified subjective consciousness of left behind women,and difficulties in improving their abilities.Relying on the "Skilled Daughter-in-law" project to enhance the comprehensive development ability of left behind women is a long-term and arduous task that requires joint efforts from multiple parties.Therefore,it is necessary to increase project funding support,broaden financing channels,enhance publicity efforts,increase project awareness,establish typical examples,expand project influence,strengthen cooperation among multiple entities,negotiate and govern together,enhance the ability building of left behind women,and improve comprehensive quality.Through the "Skilled Daughter-in-law" project,we aim to provide left behind women with more opportunities to enhance their self-development abilities and boost rural development.
