The sixth Plenary Session of the 19 th CPC Central Committee proposed to improve community governance capacity and service level.When Xi Jinping visited grassroots communities,he stressed that the modernization of a country’s governance system and governance capacity is largely reflected at grassroots levels.Community workers are the important force of grassroots governance.They are the implementor of maintaining the stability and healthy development of communities,and their work performance is directly related to the construction of harmonious communities and residents’ happiness experience.In order to meet the increasing demand of residents for community services,it is necessary to gather all social forces to provide support,so as to improve the work efficiency of community workers.Based on the above background,this paper studies the effect and mechanism of social support on task performance,hoping to improve the task performance of community workers in Tianjin by improving social support.Using social support theory,social exchange theory and two-factor theory as theoretical tools,this paper summarizes the current research status of community workers,task performance and social support,and analyzes the shortcomings of relevant research.Through interviews and questionnaires,investigated workers in 22 communities in Tianjin,and it was concluded that the social support and task performance of community workers in Tianjin were at the middle level.Therefore,this paper uses statistical software to conduct analysis on the collected data,and the results prove that all dimensions of social support have a significant positive impact on the task performance of community workers,and employees’ job satisfaction and work-family balance play a mediating role between them.Excluding the interference of control variables,government support,leadership support and family support are the greatest three factors impact on task performance.Finally,based on those,feasible countermeasures and suggestions are put forward,so as to achieve the purpose of improving the task performance level of community workers in Tianjin.
