| Since its inception,China’s women’s organisations have played an important role in China’s revolution,construction and reform,and the women’s organisations under the leadership of the Communist Party of China have a unique advantage.During the Anti-Japanese War,the Women’s Salvation Society in the Taihang Anti-Japanese Base Area was a women’s group organisation created by the Communist Party of China during the war period,mobilising women to join in activities related to the war,revolution and production,becoming an important part of the anti-Japanese united front and constantly strengthening the revolutionary armed forces during the anti-Japanese base area.The Women’s Salvation Society was the most common form of women’s organisation in the anti-Japanese base areas,and its germination,development and transformation were all in response to the needs of the times,and fulfilled the mission given by history in the anti-Japanese national united front.This article takes the Women’s Salvation Association of the Taihang Anti-Japanese Base Area as the object of study,and combines a large number of historical sources to explore the development of the Women’s Relief Society group.The second chapter analyses the social ecology and creation of the Taihang anti-Japanese base area from a macroscopic perspective,followed by the transformation of the women’s environment in the Taihang area as a result of the original living conditions of women in the area,the guidance of the women’s policy of the Communist Party of China and the influence of the Shanxi Sacrifice and Salvation League,and the entry of women’s salvation workers into the Taihang area to establish the Women’s Salvation Association.Chapter 3 discusses the development of the Women’s Salvation Association,analysing its organisers,operating system and leadership structure at a micro level.Chapter 4 analyses the effectiveness of the work of the Women’s Salvation Association,covering specific practices in safeguarding women’s rights and interests,war work and marriage changes,and explores the outstanding contributions of the Society to the anti-Japanese national united front,women’s liberation and the construction of the base areas.Chapter 5 begins with the historical limitations and organisational environment of the Women’s Salvation Association in the Taihang anti-Japanese base area,and contrasts the inheritance and similarity of its organisational roles,functions and structure through the transformation of its functions and the emergence of a new women’s organisation,the Women’s Federation,after the victory of the war.The lessons learned from the development and practice of the Women’s Salvation Association are summarised in Chapter 6,providing historical lessons for the development of the new era in terms of the new role of national women’s organisations,women’s emancipation and the effectiveness of social services,to better mobilise women’s groups in the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics,and also to better serve women in general.In conclusion,the development and growth of the Taihang Anti-Japanese Base Area Women’s Salvation Association,as an early women’s organisation of the Communist Party of China,cannot be ignored for its role in the democratic mobilisation of the Taihang Anti-Japanese Base Area,and the women of the Taihang area are constantly striving for their own liberation and the liberation of the nation. |
