Objective:With the increasing importance of the sea in China’s surrounding security environment,China is faced with complex maritime security threats and challenges. In view of this situation, the Chinese Navy needs to be capable of various military tasks such as safeguarding territorial sovereignty, maritime rights and interests, and safeguarding overseas security interests. With the change of Chinese naval strategy, the physical fitness of naval ship personnel will inevitably put forward higher requirements. At present, there are few studies on the physical fitness training methods of naval ship personnel, but a soldier whose physical fitness level reaches the standard of grade athletes has a survivability of 30%higher than that of ordinary soldiers in the battlefield.High-Intensity Interval Training(HIIT)is a type of exercise characterized by intense, rapid, explosive exercise, usually performed at a load intensity greater than the anaerobic threshold or maximum lactate homeostasis for several seconds to several minutes. And arrange the training method between each practice so that the practitioner is not enough to fully recover from the rest or low intensity exercise.Compared with traditional physical fitness training, the shortening of time, small site requirements, the diversity of movements, the pleasure of training and the significant improvement of the overall training level have made HIIT gain a huge momentum of development. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore the effect of HIIT on the physical fitness level of naval personnel. Methods:In this study,26 naval personnel were selected and randomly divided into the experimental group(13)and the control group(13)by SPSS.The experimental group received HIIT intervention for 6 weeks, and the control group received conventional military physical fitness training of the Navy.Healthy physical fitness indexes(body fat,plank,300-yard return run, seated forward bend, grip strength, standing long jump, deep jump)and competitive physical fitness indexes(40-yard dash,T-run,front throw solid ball, back throw solid ball,Y balance)of the experimental group and the control group were measured before and after the 6-week training intervention.Results:(1)The T-test results of paired samples showed that the experimental group had significant differences in body fat percentage(P=0.01),plank support(P=0.01), 300-yard return run(P=0.001),seated forward bend(P=0.01),right hand grip strength(P=0.01)and T-run(P=0.01)after intervention compared with before intervention. In the control group, there was significant difference only in plank(P=0.02)and standing long jump(P=0.01),and the results of plank in the control group showed a significant downward trend.(2)The results of two-factor measurement ANOVA show that:On the interaction effect of time(pre-and post-intervention)x group(experimental and control group),Body fat rate(F=24.93,P<0.01,η_p~2=0.51),plate support(F=31.78,P<0.01,η_p~2=0.57),a reverse layup 300 yards(F=8.98,P=0.006,η_p~2=0.27),the right hand grip strength(F=8.73,P=0.007,η_p~2=0.27)in succession, crook proneness(F=21.09,P<0.01,η_p~2=0.47),T(F=10.06,P=0.004,η_p~2=0.30),the former flip a solid sphere(F=9.32,P=0.005,η_p~2=0.28,after a solid sphere(F=5.62,P=0.03,η_p~2=0.19)and Y balance(left:F=10.12,P<0.01,η_p~2=0.30;Right:F=7.11,P=0.013,η_p~2=0.22)there were significant differences.Conclusion:(1)6-week high-intensity interval training can significantly improve the fitness level of naval ship personnel and maintain the competitive fitness level to a certain extent.(2)High-intensity interval training can be used as a training method to maintain the physical fitness level of naval ship personnel.
