With the rapid development of science and technology, the modern infantry also have rapid updates in weapons and equipment aspect. However, with infantry weapons and equipment corresponds to soldiers'physical fitness characteristic, what features have been emerged? As an important part of military training, what are the basic theories of the Infantry physical fitness training? How to evaluate the training effect? As we know, compared with other armed forces, the infantry is always charged with more brutal and intense combat missions. Therefore, the physical fitness characteristic of the infantry has its particularity. To adapt with this, the basic theory of physical fitness training of infantry is certainly different from the general theory of universal physical fitness training, such as training rules, training principles, training methods, and etc. From the starting-point of basic concept of physical fitness, the paper concretely analyzes the architecture of physical fitness, the basic properties and biological physical principles. On this basis, combined with infantry mission and battlefield environment, a profound analysis has been made on physical fitness characteristics of the infantry; the physical fitness needs of the infantry have been revealed in the modern war. Next, for those needs, in compliance with the laws of the human physical fitness and common physical fitness training, the basic theories of infantry physical fitness training is fully discussed and summarized. Some theoretical basis, such as training rules, training principles, training methods, has been proposed which should been understood and followed in the infantry physical fitness training courses. Finally, on the basis of analyzing the current military and local physical fitness training effect evaluation methods, engaging the shortcomings and limitations of those methods, a Markov chain-based evaluation model is proclaimed which is more suitable for infantry units. Furthermore, the paper verifies the application capability of the model using two infantry company in a certain motorized infantry brigade as an example. The validity of the model has also been proved.
