Research On The Leadership Development Of Undergraduate Cadets In Military Academies Based On Adversity Quotient Theory

Adversity quotient refers to a kind of reaction way when people face adversity,which can reflect the individual’s ability to resist and overcome adversity.Cadets are the future commanders of the army,and the environment in which they will lead their troops and perform their duties and missions is always complex,cruel,dangerous and challenging,even facing the test of life and death.This requires them to possess not only excellent leadership but also strong will and stable psychological quality.Therefore,military academies should recognize the importance of adversity quotient and leadership training in the process of training students to ensure the quality of cultivation quality.This paper firstly sorts out and summarizes relevant research status at home and abroad,introduces the definition and related concepts of adversity quotient and leadership,and expounds the relationship between adversity quotient and leadership in detail.Then,the revised Adversity Response Profile and DISC test were used to investigate and analyze the characteristics of adversity quotient and leadership behavior of undergraduate cadets in National University of Defense Technology to find the existing problems and further verify the influence of adversity quotient on cadets’ leadership.The existing leadership problems are closely related to the cadets’ adversity quotient.Therefore,strengthening adversity quotient training is an effective means to improve the leadership of students.On this basis,combined with the adversity quotient and leadership survey results,a targeted questionnaire survey was conducted again to analyze the causes of these problems.Finally,on the basis of learning from foreign leadership training practices and experience combined with adversity quotient,put forward countermeasures and suggestions on leadership training of undergraduate students based on adversity quotient.
