In the era of increasingly fierce social competition, education,as an important driving force mechanism to promote social mobility, has attracted more and more attention. Many families regard the "college entrance examination" as an important way to change their fate and achieve class leaps. In this context,"accompanying reading" is becoming more and more popular with parents, and has become an educational practice shared by thousands of Chinese families, among which the interesting behavioral interaction between family and education is the starting point of this research. This paper uses the method of field study to understand the "accompanying reading" phenomenon of Shenxian high school, attempts to extend the concept of "accompanying reading" to "practical activities focusing on accompanying children to study and caring for their daily life".The study founds,in Shenxian high school,"accompanying reading" is a cross-class educational practice.Families with different socio-economic status have different family capitals and realistic situations, but they all attach great importance to children’s educational problems, and actively take various educational measures to help children’s education succeed.According to the diversified practices of the "accompanying reading" family,"accompanying reading" can be devided into three types: renting, transfer and agent. In the practice process of "accompanying reading","accompanying reading" families help their children obtain educational resources, opportunities and achievements through school selection, adjustment of the class division, extracurricular tutoring and other educational strategies. That reflects the educational investment and education expectations of parents, reprents the invisible appeal of Chinese-style families who wish to reverse their destiny through education.Emotional function is the core of modern families."accompanying reading" families influence children’s educational achievements through two-way channels of family psychological environment and educational expectations. As living space, family can provide environmental support for children’s study and life. The school district housing market is booming under the stimulation of a large number of demand of "accompanying reading",with obvious premium effect.,so parents can only be most willing to pay for high housing prices under the influence of public education investment anxiety."Accompanying reading" is not only a family investment, but also a family’s educational decision. It is also a family behavior that starts from the collective interests of the entire family and integrates the family’s superior resources in order to obtain more educational resources. It is not only the result of family decision-making and personal rationality, but also the shape of traditional cultural concept and gender division model that women bear the main responsibility of accompanying reading.Following the logic of daily life practice,"accompanying reading" is actually the result of the opening and competition of educational resources. The belief that "education changes destiny" has caused widespread anxiety among parents, and in order to compete for higher education opportunities,it is expected to use family capital to play games to achieve class mobility."Accompanying reading" is a cross-class educational practice, which is inseparable from the traditional Chinese culture’s emphasis on education and social realities’ demand for higher diplomas.Unlike the "anti-school culture" that exists in the western working class, the general emphasis of Chinese families on education is deeply embedded in the cultural genes, and the desire of the disadvantaged class to achieve stride-over through education is even stronger.
