Research purpose:According to the current research on high-intensity interval training(HIIT)and medium-intensity continuous training(MICT),many studies agree that HIIT is a more time-efficient method for weight loss, which is closely related to the fact that HIIT is more significant in fat supply during the post-exercise excess oxygen consumption stage. In this study,a random crossover experiment was conducted on 21 obese male college students. The subjects performed HIIT and MICT of 300kcal successively.By comparing the excessive oxygen consumption after the two trainings, the fat oxidation during and after training, and then analyzed after the same of energy expenditure, which training method has greater excess oxygen consumption and fat consumption,so as to provide a theoretical basis for the obese people to reduce fat efficiently.Research method:The subjects of the study are 21 male college students of Beijing Sport University who have not undergone systematic physical training,18-25 years old, body fat rate>20%,normal blood pressure and good cardiopulmonary function. No metabolic disease,no history of smoking, physical activity readiness questionnaire(PAR-Q)showed no exercise risk and no related sports injuries.Subjects were randomly intersected with HIIT and MICT at 300kcal.The HIIT group protocol was 90%VO2max exercise for 3 minutes, the 25%VO2max active recovery for two minutes, and the MICT group protocol was 60%VO2max continuous exercise.Using the Cosmed gas metabolism test system to monitor indicators such as oxygen uptake, fat oxidation, excess oxygen consumption, and duration before exercise, during exercise, and during exercise recovery. The data is subjected to paired-sample t-test through SPSS statistical software, and the significant level is p<0.05.Research results:(1)The consumption time of equal energy MICT and HIIT exercise programs were 37.60±4.56min and 29.5±3.04min,respectively.The consumption time of MICT group was significantly higher than that of HIIT group(p=0.000).(2)The amount of EPOC in the exercise of the MICT group and the HIIT group was 3049.78±1217.93ml and 4343.17±1723.03ml,respectively.The EPOC amount of the HIIT group was significantly higher than that of the MICT group(p=0.002).(3)The EPOC energy consumption of the MICT group and the HIIT group were 56.91 ± 12.63kcal and 66.20± 14.36kcal,respectively.The HIIT group was significantly higher than the MICT group(p=0.045);the total energy consumption of the MICT group and HIIT group was 346.23± respectively 25.32kcal and 369.53±40.26kcal,the HIIT group was significantly higher than the MICT group(p=0.043).(4)The amount of fat oxidation in the MICT group and HIIT group during exercise was 2.19±0.96 mg/kg/min and 1.92±1.18 mg/kg/min,respectively.The MICT group was slightly higher than the HIIT group, but there was no significant difference between the two groups(p=0.285);while the fat energy supply ratio in the MICT group was significantly higher than that in the HIIT group(p=0.009)(5)After exercise, the amount of fat oxidation in the MICT group and HIIT group was 0.76±0.46 mg/kg/min and 1.01±0.43 mg/kg/min,respectively.The HIIT group was significantly higher than the MICT group(p=0.003);while the fat in the HIIT group The energy supply ratio was significantly higher than that of the MICT group(p=0.02).(6)The total amount of fat oxidation in the MICT and HIIT groups during and after exercise was 1.55±0.68 mg/kg/min and 1.46±0.73 mg/kg/min,respectively,and there was no significant difference between the two groups(p=0.564);But the total fat energy supply ratio of the MICT group(24.29±10.39%)was significantly higher than that of the HIIT group(18.89±10.44%,p=0.048).Conclusion:After equal energy consumption of HIIT and MICT training,HIIT produces a higher level of EPOC,and produces more energy consumption and fat oxidation during the EPOC stage.Suggestions:When choosing fat reduction programs, obese people should choose HIIT training programs under safe conditions,so as to obtain more energy consumption in a short period of time during fat loss.
