Collective Mutual Aid And Community Practice In The Network Era

The development of Internet technology gives birth to a large scale of virtual mutual aid groups.With the community concept of "one person in trouble,everyone helps each other",these virtual communities have created a lot of mutual help communities,causing a strong positive social effect.With the strength of these communities,countless individuals solve real problems by helping each other.Based on the Kangai mutual aid group,this paper discusses the real logic of community mutual aid from the theoretical perspective of the mutual construction of technology and society,using the research methods of participatory observation and in-depth interview.The study finds that Kangai community has low threshold,acquaintances recommended access,circle layer of intra-group connection and online and offline mutual aid practice,under these institutional designs,communities continue to function.Combining with the specific space-time conditions,we can know that the deep logic is contained in the interaction among technology,system and people.From the community’s natural attribute,it is the product of the combination of a specific medical supplement form and the particular individual.The inherent flaws in the health care system have raised concerns about the risks to the lower and middle classes of society,the individual’s social situation is not only unable to solve the dilemma,but also acts as a self-reinforcing mechanism,which actually aggravates the unknown structural dilemma.The intervention of Internet technology has turned things around.By virtue of its strong integration ability,the Internet has changed the interconnection of space and the linear flow of time,so that different subjects can realize the disintermediation docking in virtual time and flowing space,thus changing the cost structure of market transactions.The time,space and profit cost of interaction are infinite compressed.This is the source of the benefit that community members can exchange a low daily contribution for a high amount of later protection.The structural fact produced by the overall linkage of the community also successfully guides the transformation of the network power structure.At the same time,apportionment interaction not only gives financial support to individuals,but also shapes the community into an emotional community.The mutual cooperation of members’ dual roles creates the inner feeling of controlling the situation and enhancing self-efficacy.The single exercise of the role of provider endows individuals with external aura of pursuing truth,goodness and beauty,and seeking righteousness for the sake of sacrifice,which enhances the value of the role.The interaction between different members creates the emotional bond of gratitude and loyalty,and enhances the cohesion of the community.Mutual aid sharing maximizes the advantage of roles,alleviates the weak psychology of members,and meets the practical needs of many individuals.Community practice is constructed along these internal logics.However,in the later stage of community operation,because of the gradual decline of economies of scale,the community should be wary of the lack of subsequent development power and the usurpation of Internet capital.
