Since its introduction to China in 2004,the Chinese Korfball players have been actively participated international competitions.The Chinese Korfball team composed of graduate students and undergraduates won the fourth place in the 11 th World Korfball Championship in 2019.In a short period of 15 years,China has witnessed a rapid progress in the competition performance of Korfball.However,the traditional teaching method has been used in the teaching of Korfball,which is teacher-led and passively participated by students,which results in some problems such as poor teaching effect,low interest in learning and lack of initiative.Under the background of the New Era,exploring the reform of physical education and improving the system of teaching methods is not only an important part of strengthening our country terms of the sports,but also an inevitable path to promote the development of Korfball.Heterogeneous grouping is a teaching method that is based on individual difference of the students,designed to active students’ cooperation and to achieve comprehensive development.It takes both collective teaching and individual aptitude into account,therefore I proposed in university elective courses of Korfball,the application of heterogeneous grouping,which aims to strengthen the research on teaching methods,improve the teaching quality and cultivate reserved forces for the development of Korfball.In this study we adopted as methods: literature analysis,questionnaire survey,expert interview and experiments,etc.The studentsofclass2019 from Zhengzhou University who enrolled in the elective course of Korfball were taken as experimental subjects.Students were divided into two groups(the experimental group and control group)according to height,weight,gender,etc.There were a total of 60 students in these two groups.In the experimental group,we carried out the heterogeneous grouping as teaching method while the control group was the conventional teaching method.Teaching of the two groups were carried out in strict accordance with the experimental protocol and experimental steps.After a semester-long teaching comparison between the experimental group and the control group,the following results were obtained:1.Both the heterogeneous grouping and the conventional teaching method can improve the physical quality of the students in the elective course,but the improvement rate of the experimental group is significantly higher than that of the control group.Furthermore,heterogeneous grouping has a significant impact on the students’ performance of "T"-shaped reentry running and sitting and three-dimensional forward bending;In the control group,the p-values of the students’ physical fitness scores are all greater than 0.05,which shows no significant difference.2.Both the heterogeneous grouping and the conventional teaching method can improve the students’ performance in two-handed shooting,penalty kick,and closerange drop-back shooting in the elective course,but the improvement rate of the experimental group is higher than that of the control group.Furthermore,the heterogeneous grouping significantly affects the level of the students’ ball-handling skills;the conventional teaching method can only significantly affect the students’ close-range drop-back shooting level.3.Both the heterogeneous grouping and the conventional teaching method can improve the scores of the students in the elective course in terms of the historical origin of Korfball,the rules of Korfball competitions,the arrangement of Korfball games,the technical specifications of Korfball and the characteristics of Korfball movement.However,the group of heterogeneous grouping has a higher degree of improvement than the group of conventional teaching method in the theoretical knowledge of Korfball.Heterogeneous grouping has a significant impact on students’ theoretical knowledge of Korfball;the control group also has a significant impact on students’ theoretical knowledge performance in other dimensions besides the knowledge of technical specifications of Korfball.Based on the above research results,the following conclusions are drawn:1.Heterogeneous group teaching method has more advantages in improving students’ agility and flexibility.2.The heterogeneous grouping teaching method has more advantages in improving students’ two-handed shooting in situ,penalty shooting and short distance back step shooting.3.Heterogeneous group teaching method has more advantages in improving students’ knowledge of ball and load theory.Suggestions:1.Heterogeneous grouping should respect the individual differences of students in the teaching of elective courses2.Heterogeneous grouping should formulate targeted teaching goals in the elective course of Korfball3.Heterogeneous grouping should adopt tiered assessment criteria for ratings in the teaching of the elective course of Korfball...
