| Education is the foundation of national rejuvenation and social progress.Studying the structure of the teaching staff is helpful to strengthen the understanding of the current state of higher education in our country,and provide theoretical and decision-making basis for the reform of higher education in our country.The research is based on the educational statistics of the Ministry of Education of China(2001-2020),and comprehensively uses research methods such as literature research method,statistical analysis method and comparative research method.Dimension,vertical and horizontal comparisons are made on the relevant data of full-time faculty in general colleges and universities across the country.At the same time,by comparing the relevant data of foreign developed countries and world-class universities,we strive to objectively,comprehensively and systematically understand and deeply analyze the structural evolution of the full-time teaching staff in my country’s general universities since the beginning of the 21 st century,and examine the construction of full-time teaching staff in general universities in my country.Although a series of achievements have been made,there are still some problems in the full-time faculty in ordinary colleges and universities in my country: the student-teacher ratio remains high,and the differences between provinces are large;the structure of young faculty has a trend of feminization,and the proportion of female faculty in some areas is relatively high.The proportion of faculty with positive and senior professional titles is low,and the structure of professional titles between provinces is unreasonable;the allocation of faculty with doctoral degrees is low,the gap between provinces is large,and the coordinated development of higher education still has a long way to go.The reasons are: from the perspective of economic factors,the investment in education is insufficient,and the economic differences between provinces are large;from the perspective of social factors,the academic environment is not good,and faculty have a low sense of professional identity;from the perspective of policy factors,the management of the teaching staff lacks scientific and effective management.Incentive mechanism,low academic standards,improper evaluation system,etc.Based on this,according to the incentive theory,it puts forward suggestions for improvement from the perspectives of macro and micro levels,government,colleges and universities,society,etc.: establish the concept of college faculty team construction that meets the requirements of the new era;realize the innovation of the management mechanism of the teaching team,and improve the overall level of the teaching team;A good environment,improve the laws and systems for the construction of the teaching staff,and provide a guarantee for the optimization of the structure of the teaching staff. |
