Research On Social Worker Intervention In Community Epidemic Prevention And Control

At the beginning of 2020,the outbreak of Corona Virus Disease 2019(COVID-19)has posed a serious threat to people’s health and economic development worldwide.Under the personal command of President Xi and the joint efforts of the government and people across the country,important progress has been made in the prevention and control of the epidemic.In the process of the prevention and control of the epidemic,the community has become a strong fortress of epidemic prevention and control,effectively building the first line of defense for epidemic prevention and control,and social workers have played the main role.President Xi proposed to give full play to the professional advantages of social work and support social workers,volunteers and volunteers to provide psychological counseling,emotional support,and security support services.This campaign is the first time that our social work profession has intervened in the anti-epidemic process of the whole society,and has accumulated valuable experience for social work to intervene in public health emergency.From the perspective of social work,this paper,taking the prevention and control of COVID-19 in Wuhan X community as an example,analyzes the work methods,service effectiveness and difficulties of social work intervention in community epidemic prevention and control,and tries to summarize the intervention of social work in the prevention and control of public health emergency,which promotes the development of local public health social work.Through literature analysis,semi-structured interviews,case analysis and other research methods,this paper discusses the special professional advantages of social work involved in the prevention and control of the epidemic.In the process of service,social work interventions take residents’ demands as the core.They accurately assess the plight of the community itself and the actual needs of residents under the prevention and control of the epidemic.In response to the needs of residents in different aspects,social workers adopt a dual-pronged approach of online+offline work to provide community residents with psychological and physical services.At the same time,in the service process,the synergy formed between the government,local social workers and social workers cannot be ignored.The proactive intervention of social work in the prevention and control of the epidemic is a timely supplement to government services,alleviating the urgent needs of Wuhan residents.At the same time,the public health and social work intervention methods of Wuhan communities are also used nationwide,which promotes the development of social work across the country.Although the intervention of social work in the prevention and control of the epidemic is effective,there are also some urgent problems in the process of providing services,such as insufficient cooperation between government and society,limited legal status of social workers,and low degree of professionalization of social workers,etc.,which needs continuous improvement in the future practice process.This article analyzes the working methods of social work intervention in the epidemic and it also explores the role and function of social work in epidemic prevention and control.The paper may promote social work to give full play to its professional advantages to intervene in public health emergencies,which in turn promotes the improvement of the ability and level of China’s social work to intervene in public health emergencies.
