| The General High School Geography Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition Revised2020)clearly requires that students’ disciplinary key competence should be cultivated.Situation teaching advocates that students learn geographic knowledge and develop essential geographic skills in authentic situations,which is an important way to cultivate students’ key competence in geography and plays an important role in the cultivation of students’ key competence in the subject.This dissertation analyzed the research literature on key competence and geography situation teaching at home and abroad,conducted a survey and analysis of the current situation of high school geography situation teaching using questionnaire survey method,summarized the current problems of high school geography situation teaching;proposed strategies to improve high school geography situation teaching based on the requirements of key competence objectives,and carried out a case design of high school geography situation teaching.The main conclusions were obtained as follows.(1)The survey results show that at present,there are many high school geography situation teaching,but there are also problems such as less training on situation teaching organized by schools,less in-depth seminars and exchanges on situation teaching among teachers’ teaching teams,lagging construction of geography situation teaching resources,the relevance and effectiveness of teachers’ geography situation teaching to be improved,and insufficient students’ awareness of and participation in geography situation teaching.(2)In response to the problems of situation teaching in high school geography,improvement strategies are proposed at three levels: schools,teachers and students based on the requirements of geography key competence goals.It is proposed that schools should strengthen inter-school situation teaching communication;teachers need to update their educational philosophy,change their teaching methods,strengthen the construction and application of geography situation resources,and stimulate students’ interest in participation;students should improve their understanding of geography situation teaching,actively participate in situation teaching classroom practice,and cultivate key competence in geography.(3)Based on the requirements of geography key competence objectives,the high school Geography Compulsory 1 textbook of Lujiao edition was reviewed in terms of situation materials and situation teaching methods;the case design,implementation and evaluation of situation teaching were carried out with the chapter of "Earth’s Circle Structure" in Unit 1 Section 3 of Compulsory 1 and the chapter of "Urbanization and its Process" in Unit 2 Section 3 of Compulsory 2 as examples. |
