Research On The Intervention Of Social Work To Improve The Neighborhood Relations In The Floating Population Community

Since the 1980 s,with the development of social economy and the advancement of urban-rural integration,more and more rural people have entered the city and made contributions to urban development.It is an inevitable trend for these floating people to settle down and finally become citizens.However,in the past decades,these floating population has not been fully citizenized psychologically and for their status.The construction of harmonious community in modern society makes the floating population a major difficulty in community management.Because of its heterogeneity and dispersion,the floating population lacks interpersonal communication and social support networks in urban communities.The communication and interaction with community neighbors often become the main social resource of the floating population.However,the frequency of daily interaction with city dwellers is low,the neighborhood shows an estrangement trend,and the residents’ willingness to participate in community public affairs also shows a downward trend,which has had an adverse impact on the construction of a harmonious society.It is particularly important to investigate and analyze the problems of neighborhood relations in migrant community,and use social work methods to intervene and improve neighborhood relations.Based on the Perspective of Social Network Approach,and Social Exchange Theory,this study collects data through questionnaires and interviews to comprehend the current situation and influencing factors of neighborhood relations of the targeted community,focusing on the elder people in T community,and analyzes the necessity and feasibility of social work intervention.In the practical stage,group work and community work methods are used for service intervention,the intervention effect was evaluated by questionnaire and interview,combined with the Chinese revised version of neighborhood cohesion Index(NCI),and finally make a summary and introspection,then put forward targeted recommendations.The results show that there are significant differences in the pre-test and post-test scores between the experimental group and the control group,indicating that the group work method has a significant effect in improving the neighborhood relations of floating population;Combined with the community work,as a supplement to group activities,in order to expand the influence of the group work,broaden the neighborhood relations improving practice to the whole community.The intervention of social work is to break the barriers of communication between residents,achieve cognitive change,cultivate awareness,deepen communication,establish social network,and improve the current situation of neighborhood relations.
