| In recent years, type 1 diabetes has received extensive attention from the state and society.Studies have shown that poor blood sugar control in children with type 1diabetes leads to changes in the mental health of their caregivers. For example, caregivers of children with poor blood sugar control suffer from collapse, depression,Anxiety and other psychological problems. As for the problem of poor blood sugar control in children, previous studies have mainly focused on the medical condition and the psychological status of the children themselves, but paid less attention to whether the mental health of the children’s caregivers would have impact on children’s blood sugar control. Therefore, this study mainly explores the associations between the blood sugar of type 1 diabetes and the caregiver mental health status. In this study,147 caregivers of children with type 1 diabetes who had been treated at the Children’s Hospital Affiliated to Zhejiang University School of Medicine were included as the research participants.Data and information were collected in the form of online questionnaires to evaluate the status of blood sugar control in children and the mental health of caregivers.situation.Three caregivers and two healthcare workers were interviewed to supplement the quantitative study. In this study, the blood sugar control level of the children is mainly reflected by their glycated hemoglobin.Lower glycated hemoglobin indicates better blood sugar control in the child. The results of the study are as follows:(1)The blood sugar control of the children with type 1 diabetes in this hospital is at a moderate level;(2)The mental health status of the caregivers of children with type 1 diabetes was in the middle level, and the average score of the factor of sleep and diet was the highest;(3)The mental health status of caregivers has a positive effect on blood sugar control in children with type 1 diabetes;(4)The social support level of the caregivers was negatively correlated with the hemoglobin level of the children.Specifically: the higher the social support level of the caregivers, the lower the glycated hemoglobin of the children, that is,the better the blood sugar control of the children;(5)The parent-child relationship was negatively correlated with the child’s glycated hemoglobin.Specifically, the better the parent-child relationship between the child and the caregiver, the lower the child’s glycated hemoglobin, that is,the child’s blood sugar could be better controlled. On the basis of the research results, according to the mental health status of the caregivers, medical social workers’ intervention suggestions are put forward from the individual, family, school, community, hospital and other levels,in order to improve the mental health of the caregivers and effectively control the blood sugar of the children. |
