The report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China pointed out that we must give priority to the "agriculture, rural areas and farmers" among all the party’s work during the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy. At present, since urban and rural areas develop unevenly in China,a large number of men in rural areas have come to work in cities, leaving the rural women as an important force in the rural revitalization. It is a major task to take care of the physical and mental health of women in rural areas for rural revitalization. In order to understand the health status of rural women,in this paper, the author applied the Resident Health Literacy Scale for measurement.Health literacy is an important indicator to evaluate the health status of residents.Low health literacy will not only produce adverse effects on residents’ health and national health conditions, but also give rise to public health problems.High health literacy means that residents well master health knowledge, lead healthy lifestyles and have health skills, and it is capable for them to maintain and improve their health status.Combining the 66 health literacy items of Chinese residents issued by the Ministry of Health in 2015,the author prepared a questionnaire and conducted a sample survey of married women of childbearing age in town P.The results show that overall speaking, the married women of childbearing age in this region have low health literacy, since they master poorly the health knowledge, health behavior, and health skills.Based on the questionnaire results and interview data, the author established a professional relationship with one of the objects and developed an intervention plan for her to improve health literacy with the casework method to help her in learning health knowledge, cultivating healthy behaviors, mastering health skills and linking social resources. The author intervened the object with low health literacy through professional method of social work which improved the object’ health literacy to a certain extent, while positively helping her maintain a positive health concept.Based on the above analysis and conclusions, the author believes that: first, social work methods are feasible to promote the health literacy of married women of childbearing age.Guided by the professional theories of social work and through casework,we can help married women of childbearing age change their unreasonable cognition, cultivate scientific health concepts and learn health skills to effectively improve their health literacy.Second, the married women of childbearing age in rural areas have low health literacy which is not only related to their educational background, age, economic status, etc.,but also influenced by the community, social environment, and policy support. Therefore, when providing intervention services, social workers should not only intervene in the object herself, but also help the her to link resources,so that she can be helped by various forces,so as to achieve the purpose of improving her health literacy.
