| A good teacher promises a good student.The quality of teachers is the key to the quality of education.Because of their “excellent” professionalism,excellent teachers can play a role in teachers’ team as models and leaders,and provide talent guarantee for the improvement of education quality,which has become the goal of training high-quality teachers in various countries.Therefore,it is important to carry out research on excellent teachers to improve the quality of teachers in China.At present,there have been a lot of researches on the cultivation path,connotation and international comparison of excellent teachers,and some achievements have been made.However,there are few researches on pre-service training courses for excellent teachers.Based on this,this paper takes the pre-service training of excellent primary school teachers as a starting point to examine the development of excellent primary school teachers’ training in the United States.By analyzing the pre-service training curriculum of excellent primary school teachers in the United States,this paper discusses the enlightenment to the educational reform of excellent primary school teachers in China.This paper analyzes the U.S.pre-service preparation of excellent primary school teachers from the perspective of curriculum studies.Firstly,reviewing the historical development of the American excellent teacher policy,under the “excellent teacher”training concept,the policy has gone through three stages of formation,development and deepening.Secondly,the text analysis method is used to analyze standards of excellent primary school teachers in the United States.Finally,the case analysis method is used to analyze the pre-service curriculum for primary excellent teachers in Michigan State University,Valdosta State University and Stanford University.The analysis was mainly conducted in four aspects: curriculum objectives,curriculum setting,curriculum implementation,and curriculum evaluation.At the same time,the curricula of the three institutions are compared horizontally and collectively according to the theoretical and practical dimensions and the professional and academic dimensions of the curricula,and the characteristics of the pre-service training programs for excellent primary school teachers are explored in an intertwined framework of analysis.The paper found that the concept of “excellence” is embedded in the pre-service training curriculum system of excellent primary school teachers in the United States.The goal of the curriculum is to activate “excellence” in the professionalism of teachers.In terms of curriculum setting,it gives consideration to theoretical courses and practical courses,attaches importance to professional courses and academic courses,reflecting the characteristics of integration,progress and symbiosis.In terms of curriculum implementation,emphasis should be placed on the multi-dimensional ability development of excellent teachers,especially the development of highly distinctive practical activities.In terms of curriculum evaluation,the main features are multi-level evaluation content and multi-dimensional evaluation subjects,and scientific evaluation of excellent teachers.For the training of excellent primary school teachers in China,sustained efforts should be made in three areas: developing professional standards for teacher excellence,developing a scientific curriculum system,and designing effective teaching internships. |
