Family is the first school in one’s life, and it’s an important place for adolescent mental health education.Parents’ mental health education for adolescents is related to their spiritual growth and life-long development. It is an indispensable key link in adolescent mental health education. However, the existing domestic research on the mental health education of adolescents is mostly concentrated on school. The mental health education of parents to adolescents in the family environment is still in the preliminary stage of exploration, and systematic research has not formed yet.To carry out mental health education for young people,it is necessary to give full play to the advantages of parents.Especially for rural areas where the development of mental health education in school is difficult,it is particularly important to pay attention to and cultivate parents’ mental health education for their children.Guided by Ecological Systems Theory and Social Learning Theory, this research focus on the perspective of family, combined with Consensual Qualitative Research(CQR)and questionnaire quantitative research, carried out a research on the mental health education of rural parents to their children in H Town,Hubei Province.Further explores the impact of rural parents’ mental health education on the adolescent mental health. The qualitative research results of rural parents’ mental health education shows, that the content related to parents’ mental health education can be divided into 4 domains, namely: recognition of mental health, concern for adolescent mental health, feeling in influencing factors of mental health, parents’ mental health education to children. The study have indicated that adolescent mental health by rural parents is universal, which is embodied in three aspects.First, rural parents have a plain mental health education awareness.Second, there are a variety of mental health education methods, including 15 kinds,’’verbal edification’’,’’affective interaction’’,’’comfort’’,’’punishment’’,’’reward and encouragement’’,’’support’’,’’moral education’’,’’good learning and living habits cultivating’’,’’transitory ignore’’,’’concern’’,’’role a model’’,’’self-review’’,’’recourse’’ and’’reduce stress’ ’.Third, most rural parents feel more negative in the process of mental health education for their children. After analyzing the mental health education of rural parents to their children,it shows that:(1)Rural parents have good mental health education awareness,(2)Among the 15 mental health education methods, the ’’moral education’’ is considered as the most effective one,and it’s also frequently used,(3)The rural parents’ self-efficacy of mental health education is generally weak and needs to be further improved. In order to determine the impact of rural parents’ mental health education on adolescent mental health, make parents’ mental health education awareness, mental health education methods,self-efficacy of mental health education, emotions and feelings in mental health education as independent variables. And adolescent mental health is the dependent variable. The results of multiple regression analysis demonstrate that the mental health education of rural parents has an impact on adolescent mental health, with a total effect size of 17.2%.Based on relevant research conclusions, the following suggestions are given to strengthen rural parents’ mental health education for adolescents, one is to optimize the family micro-system for adolescent mental health education, and the other is to build a middle system of common mental health education between school and family, the third is to establish an extra-social system that emphasizes the development of family mental health education.Offer a reference for mental health education activities and mental health work promotion in rural areas.
