| Middle school students are a special and important group of commuters.Compared with general commuting behaviors, their commuting has the characteristics of weak flexibility, poor autonomy, and strong dependence. The way of commuting to school during the peak hours of working days and relying on parents is the cause of urbanization. It is an important cause of traffic congestion,so how can middle school students use the socially expected travel mode to travel independently, that is,the key factor that promotes "active commuting" has become the focus of this paper. This paper focuses on the influencing factors of middle school students’ active commuting behavior.Taking Beijing middle school students as the research object, through literature review and theoretical analysis,it comprehensively and systematically sorts out the existing research results and the theoretical basis of this research, and Revealed Preference Survey and descriptive statistics were used to collect data and test the reliability and validity of middle school students in three middle schools in Beijing. Then, the binary logit model and structural equation model of the influencing factors of middle school students’ active commuting behavior were constructed.By incorporating the commuting characteristics of public transportation In order to make it more suitable for the actual situation of domestic middle school students, from the four aspects of personal characteristics, commuting environment, parental factors and subjective psychological factors, the factors affecting the active commuting behavior of middle school students are explored and verified, and through group regression and heterogeneity analysis, obtained differentiated results within multiple groups, and found the contributing factors of active commuting behavior of middle school students. The study found that for middle school students, the more important objective factors were commuting distance, dropping by with classmates, waiting time, mixed traffic of people and vehicles, parents being free to send them to school, and parents’ support for active commuting.Among them, the waiting time for public transportation was Less considered in the existing literature, subjective factors also significantly affect the active commuting behavior of middle school students.Subjective norms, attitudes, and personal abilities in perceived behavior control have a greater impact. It is found that social pressure and expectations are the active commuting behavior of middle school students. The main psychological driving force.According to the research conclusions, policy recommendations can be made through the equalization of education resources in the school district and the implementation of the nearest admission policy to shorten the distance between home and school, and through the addition of public transportation lines near the middle school and the increase of penalties for violations such as running red lights at intersections and optimizing the initiative of middle school students The commuting experience, through the penetration of home-school education and multiparty expectations, achieves the positive perception of active commuting among middle school students, etc.,which may help more middle school students realize the active commuting behavior. |
