The rapid development of the times affects the training requirements of talents.Since the new curriculum standard in 2017 mentioned that computing thinking is listed as one of the four core qualities of information technology discipline,whether you have good computing thinking has become a key indicator to measure the quality of talents in the new era.Through the investigation,it is found that at present,the cultivation of computing thinking for primary school students in China is less and mostly limited to graphical programming,which is divorced from real life and not explicit in the thinking mode of primary school students;The cultivation of computing thinking in secondary and higher education mostly exists in project-based teaching or computer courses,and has measurement indicators to show that it has achieved good results.Therefore,this study draws lessons from the cultivation mode of computing thinking in middle and higher education,based on Project-based Learning and Arduino open source hardware as the carrier,develops and designs Arduino open source hardware curriculum in primary school with computing thinking as the cultivation goal.The research contents are as follows:(1)sort out and analyze the literature on the cultivation status of computing thinking and the implementation status of open source hardware curriculum at home and abroad,try to find out the internal logical relationship between computing thinking and open source hardware curriculum,and explain the feasibility of cultivating computing thinking based on open source hardware curriculum.(2)According to the definition of computing thinking in the2017 curriculum standard,the current situation of students’ computing thinking is investigated from the four aspects of "computing concept,computing concept,computing practice and computing migration",combined with the survey and analysis results and the characteristics of open source hardware courses,integrated into CDIO Engineering Teaching Mode and empirical curriculum theory,and combined with Arduino open source hardware platform and mixly programming software,The five stage curriculum framework of "project introduction stage,project conception stage,project practice stage,project discussion stage and project feedback stage" is designed.(3)According to the curriculum framework,build a detailed curriculum teaching design,carry out the implementation of teaching activities for three months,collect and analyze the data such as pre-test and interview of computational thinking,verify the effectiveness of the curriculum teaching scheme,analyze its advantages and disadvantages,and draw a conclusion.The research found that:(1)the Arduino open source hardware curriculum for primary school students has a certain effect on the cultivation of primary school students’ computing thinking,mainly reflected in the improvement of creative ability,followed by the improvement of algorithmic thinking,critical thinking and problemsolving ability.At the same time,it also shows that the cooperation ability has not been significantly improved;(2)The choice of curriculum items is very important for the curriculum.The project-based curriculum model significantly improves the design and practice ability of primary school students,but it should be noted that the setting of curriculum items should be related to the students’ real life and the development of the times;(3)Whether the primary school students’ computational thinking has been improved is finally judged by whether the primary school students can transfer the problem-solving process and methods to other related projects.Therefore,the transfer and application of curriculum projects is the ultimate goal of the cultivation of computational thinking.In conclusion,the research proves that it is feasible to cultivate pupils’ computing thinking in Arduino open source hardware curriculum in primary school,and can improve pupils’ computing thinking to a certain extent.At the same time,it puts forward improvement suggestions for curriculum design and research according to the practical results,which can provide theoretical support and practical experience for subsequent relevant research.
