Since the new era,Chinese plays an important role in international exchanges.In the context of the COVID-19,international Chinese language teachers have made various attempts to break through the traditional single teaching mode.The teaching of Chinese comprehensive courses in the UK is facing many difficulties due to the COVID-19.Hybrid teaching mode,with its advantages of strong interactivity and flexibility,has played an important role in Chinese language teaching at Sevenoaks Middle School.This article summarizes the current research status of Chinese language teaching and blended learning models in the UK both domestically and internationally,explores the feasibility of combining blended learning models with intermediate and advanced Chinese language comprehensive courses,and analyzes the advantages of Sevenoaks Middle School’s blended Chinese language teaching,including comprehensive multimedia equipment and network resources,excellent teachers,and diverse student bodies;Based on the current teaching situation of Sevenoaks Middle School in the UK,teaching design and practice are carried out.Through teaching feedback,comparative analysis of grades,and questionnaire interviews,we have a deep understanding of the teaching effectiveness.We believe that the Hybrid Chinese language teaching at Sevenoaks Middle School has problems such as difficult to determine teaching content,inconsistent online and offline teaching conversion,untimely monitoring feedback,difficulty in making teacher courseware,high pressure on online and offline teaching,low student participation,and poor learning effectiveness;Finally,targeted suggestions are proposed from the perspectives of teachers,students,and schools: teachers should improve their online multimedia operation and classroom management abilities,and make reasonable use of online resources to reduce the burden of offline teaching;Students should enhance their awareness of online self-directed learning,communicate their learning progress with teachers in a timely manner after class,and utilize online resources to improve learning efficiency;Sevenoaks School should regularly carry out teacher Hybrid teaching skills training and resource sharing and exchange,establish effective student learning monitoring platforms,and comprehensively improve the level and effectiveness of Hybrid teaching.Through research,the aim is to provide reference and inspiration for the implementation of Hybrid Chinese language teaching at Sevenoaks School and other similar international private high schools.
