The foundation of the world is in the country,the foundation of the country is at home.A letter home is a record of the history of your home,the life experiences of your parents and relatives.Letters home are a bond of family affection,an important carrier of family education,and a mirror of family tradition.Excellent letters home have warm and simple positive power,in line with the traditional Chinese family concept,can stimulate people’s good and positive feelings about "home".Red letters home,different from ordinary letters home,were written by members of the Chinese Communist Party,advanced elements and the broad patriotic people during the four periods of China’s revolution,construction,reform and new era.Red letters home are an important medium for revolutionary ancestors to communicate information and express their feelings with their families and relatives.They are not only the pursuit of revolutionary martyrs’ home memories in their own growth,but also the source and driving force for a person or even a generation to advance.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,this paper consists of four chapters:Chapter one introduces the connotation of the letters home and red letters home and the characteristics of The Times,authenticity and education of the red letters home,which provides a theoretical basis for this paper.In addition,the paper discusses the significance of red letters in high school history teaching:first,it is beneficial to supplement the sources of historical materials and cultivate the empirical quality of historical materials;Second,it is helpful to improve the temperature of history education and cultivate the quality of home and country feelings.Third,it is helpful to supplement historical details and cultivate the core quality of historical interpretation.Fourthly,it is conducive to practicing the idea of cultivating people by virtue and promoting traditional Chinese culture.The second chapter selects three middle schools in Wuxi City,Jiangsu Province as research sites.Through questionnaires to students and interviews with teachers,the application status and problems of red letters home in high school history teaching are understood.According to the survey results,history teachers have the following problems in class:From the perspective of teachers,first,teachers have insufficient understanding of the role of red letters;Secondly,the cultivation of professional quality of history teachers is limited.From the perspective of students,firstly,students’ reading ability of historical materials is insufficient;Second,the channels for students to obtain red letters are limited.And on the basis of this analysis of the causes of the above problems.The third chapter,based on the data analysis results,proposes that the principle of authenticity,validity,appropriateness and subjectivity should be insisted in the application of red letters in high school history classroom teaching.The application strategies of red home letters include optimizing the content of textbooks and improving the quality of history teaching;Strengthen the development consciousness,strengthen the construction of red letters database;Enrich the teaching form of history classroom and increase the diversity of teaching.Chapter four lists the application examples of red letters in high school history teaching.In the teaching style of history teaching should do:cleverly set up the introduction;Break through teaching key points;Clever endings;Consolidate learning outcomes.The application of red letters home in activity teaching should do:carry out the campus cultural activities of red letters home,carry forward the red culture;Participate in red study activities to deepen the inheritance of family letters culture.Through the above measures to help teachers better use the red letters in the front-line teaching of history,improve the quality of history teaching.
