Action Research Of High School Programming Teaching Based On 5E Teaching Model

Abstract/Summary:
In today’s rapidly developing era of information technology,emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things,robotics,and 3D printing are constantly emerging.People are increasingly paying attention to the programming languages behind them.As a digital native,high school students need to master this skill that is closely related to future life.However,compared to general IT knowledge,the concepts and ideas related to programming are more and complex.Traditional lecture and practice teaching methods cannot provide students with sufficient innovation and thinking space.Therefore,it is necessary for teachers to explore the application of other teaching models in programming education in order to achieve better teaching effectiveness.The 5E teaching model adheres to the classroom teaching concept of "student-centered" and meets the requirements of programming education reform.Based on this,this research attempts to explore the application effect of the 5E teaching model in high school programming education.The study first conducted literature review and reading to sort out the content system,teaching objectives,and research status of high school programming education.It summarized the origin,concept,philosophy,strategies,and evaluation of the 5E teaching model,and combined it with the programming education process to establish a high school programming teaching process based on the 5E teaching model.Then,based on the analysis of selected textbooks and student situations,three teaching activities were designed:"Smart Night Light,""Crazy Rabbits," and "The King’s Wheat." Next,using action research method,three rounds of teaching practices were conducted,and continuous reflection and adjustment were made during the practice.Data and feedback were collected through various methods,such as analysis of student homework scores,student self-assessment analysis,survey questionnaires,and interviews with students’ evaluation of teaching.Finally,software tools such as Word,Excel,and SPSS were used to organize,analyze,and summarize the data collected during the teaching experiments,and analyze the application effect of the 5E teaching model in programming education.The research results showed that the application of the 5E teaching model in high school programming education can effectively improve students’ programming learning outcomes,programming interest,problem-solving abilities,and teamwork skills.This research may provide case references for future research on the application of the 5E teaching model in high school programming education and enrich the construction of new models for high school programming education.Due to time and resource limitations,the study only selected some content from the compulsory information technology textbooks for teaching design and practice,and did not explore elective textbooks.The selected sample size also has certain limitations.Future research will further analyze and study the application of the 5E teaching model in high school programming courses,striving to achieve more optimized teaching effectiveness.
