| The problem of students’ excessive academic burden has always been a difficult point in basic education.The "double reduction" policy promulgated by the state in 2021 once again highlights the necessity and urgency of reducing students’ academic burden.The implementation of the "double reduction" policy requires the school to take effective measures to "reduce the burden" on students based on the actual situation of the school.What measures have been taken by schools,how specifically they have been implemented,what results have been achieved,what successful experiences have schools had in "reducing burdens",and what difficulties they are facing?These are all issues that need to be paid attention to and studied during the implementation of the"double reduction" policy.Currently,domestic research on "burden reduction" in schools has accumulated a large number of theoretical research results,but empirical research remains to be further enriched.There is a lack of detailed and in-depth case studies on "burden reduction"in schools in the existing literature,and the practical investigation and analysis of specific school "burden reduction" experiences and dilemmas need to be strengthened.Based on this background,this study takes an urban junior high school(J school for short)as the research object,conducts a case study of the school’s "burden reduction" situation,analyzes the specific measures and actions of the school’s "burden reduction",summarizes its successful experience and difficulties faced,reveals the impact factors of the school’s "burden reduction",and explores feasible paths and suggestions,with a view to providing reference and reference for other similar schools with similar backgrounds.In this study,text analysis method,observation method and interview method were comprehensively adopted to collect the relevant data of J-school "reducing the burden".Through in-depth analysis of the data,the measures and difficulties facing J School to"reduce the burden" are summarized,and then the factors affecting J School to "reduce the burden" are extracted,and on this basis,the countermeasures and suggestions for the school to "reduce the burden" are put forward.The investigation found that J school actively took a series of measures to "reduce the burden".First,the school uses the concept of "education with parents’ heart" to guide "reducing the burden",and links "reducing the burden" with caring for students and promoting students’ healthy growth.Second,strengthen the management of students’ physique,homework and sleep.The third is to take the initiative to explore the"three needs" course,from the perspective of classroom teaching,students’ psychology and interests,taking into account the diverse needs of different students.Fourth,focus on strengthening home-school communication and strive to win support from parents.The measures of "reducing the burden" of J School have achieved certain results,but at the same time,it is also faced with eight difficulties from inside and outside the school.School difficulties include:individual teachers to "reduce the burden" passive slack;Student difference and subject difference lead to the increase of some students’academic load;Some students take the initiative to "increase the burden".Difficulties outside school include:pressure from high school entrance examination;Problems arising in the implementation of the evaluation method of grading system;Schools for students to "reduce the burden" and parents are constantly "increasing the burden";The new burden of after-school services;Off-campus training institutions have not been banned,which has a negative impact on the "burden reduction" of schools.Through a comprehensive analysis of the implementation of the "burden reduction" measures in J School and the difficulties it faces,this study summarizes the factors affecting the"burden reduction" in J school,which can be divided into 5 aspects and 11 factors.The influencing factors come from five aspects:school,family,educational administration department,extracurricular training institutions and examination culture.The 11 influencing factors include:principals,teachers,students,organizations,systems,resources,measures,parents,college entrance examination and high school entrance examination,extracurricular training in disciplines that violate the rules,and education reform and supervision at the regional level.Based on the above findings,this study explores the deep mechanism of the practice of "reducing the burden" in schools,that is,"reducing the burden" as a process of returning the essence of education,"Reducing the burden" as a process of educational ecological governance,"Burden reduction" as a complex system,"Lightening the burden" is a cultural reconstruction activity and "lightening the burden" is a creative practice.In order to further implement and promote the work of "burden reduction" in schools,this study puts forward seven suggestions:first,schools should improve their position,earnestly implement national policies,and creatively carry out the work of"burden reduction".Second,the establishment of special institutions and systems to ensure the orderly implementation of "burden reduction" in schools.Third,promote teachers’ professional development and enhance teachers’ ability to "reduce burdens".Fourth,guide students to determine reasonable goals and avoid "active internal examination".Fifth,strengthen home-school cooperation to form a "burden reduction"joint force.Sixth,we should strengthen the supervision of educational administrative departments to "reduce the burden" of schools and promote inter-school exchanges.Seventh,strengthen extracurricular training institutions governance,create a good education ecology. |
