Teacher’s ethics education is of great significance in creating a high-quality teaching team and fulfilling the mission of "fostering virtue through education",which is a matter of the future of the country and the nation.The junior secondary stage is a transitional period when students move from childhood to maturity,and the quality of teachers’ s ethics has an important impact on students during this period.Enhancing the effectiveness of teacher’s ethics education among junior secondary school teachers is the right thing to do in the new era of teacher team building.This paper uses questionnaires and interviews to investigate the content,methods,environment and effectiveness of teacher’s ethics education in seven junior secondary schools in District B of City C.It finds that there are problems of insufficient practicality of teacher’s ethics education content,low attractiveness of teacher’s ethics education methods,poor teacher’s ethics education environment and weak effectiveness of teacher’s ethics education.The reasons for this are,firstly,deviations in the school’s concept of teacher’s ethics education;secondly,the school’s imperfect mechanism of teacher’s ethics education;and thirdly,the lack of positive awareness of teacher’s ethics education among teachers.In response to these problems and their causes,firstly,schools should innovate the concept of teacher’s ethics education,develop a view of education that focuses on the well-being of teachers,establish an education spirit that returns to the educational workplace,and strengthen the scientific awareness of teacher’s ethics education.Secondly,schools should improve the mechanism of teacher’s ethics education by integrating resources,expanding methods and focusing on teachers’ careers to form a whole-person,all-round and whole-process education pattern.Finally,emphasis should be placed on guiding teachers to improve their self-cultivation and mobilising their subjective initiative so that they can improve their ethics in practice and cultivate them through introspection.
