Research On The Transformation Path Of Local Undergraduate Universities To Entrepreneurial Universities

Entrepreneurial university is a new type of university which appeared in the developed countries of Europe and America in the middle and late 20 th century.It is the innovation of university education idea and development strategy in the era of rapid development of knowledge economy.As an important part of the national innovation system,the university is an important force to promote the construction of an innovation-oriented country.As an important part of the higher education cause and an important force to promote the education reform,it is necessary to make a realistic response to the construction of an innovation-oriented country and the cultivation of innovative and entrepreneurial talents.Local undergraduate universities should take the transformation into entrepreneurial universities as an opportunity,strengthen the cooperation with the government,industry and research institutes,actively promote technological innovation around the needs of regional economic and social development,constantly improve the ability of scientific research,service,culture and knowledge innovation,promote the transformation of scientific research results and the development of high and new technology,and realize the leapfrog development of local undergraduate universities.It will play a bigger role in building a system for cultivating talents for innovation and entrepreneurship.Firstly,through the study of the connotation and organizational characteristics of entrepreneurial universities,this paper concludes that entrepreneurial universities are one of the better choices for the transformation and development of local undergraduate universities.Secondly,through SWOT analysis,the advantages,disadvantages,opportunities and threats of the transformation of local undergraduate universities to entrepreneurial universities are analyzed,and the SWOT analysis model is made,which can carry out a comprehensive,systematic and clear study on the status quo of the transformation of local undergraduate universities to entrepreneurial universities,so as to formulate corresponding development strategies according to the research results.Finally,through a comparative study between local undergraduate universities and the University of Warwick in the UK,combined with Burton Clark’s "five elements theory",the similarities and differences between local undergraduate universities and the University of Warwick are summarized to provide experience for the transformation of local undergraduate universities.The above research shows that,firstly,the innovation principle and characteristic principle should be followed in the process of local undergraduate university’s transformation to entrepreneurial university.Secondly,in the internal path of the transformation of local universities into entrepreneurial universities,the following six aspects are required: making clear the idea of running a school,building a strong core of leadership,setting up an interdisciplinary research and development organization;It is necessary to establish a mixed organization to promote the cooperation between industry,university and Research Institute,strengthen the construction of entrepreneurial talents,widen the sources of funds for running schools,and create an integrated entrepreneurial enterprise.Finally,the transformation of local undergraduate universities into entrepreneurial universities can not be separated from the support of the government and enterprises.In external support,the government should actively perform its functions,establish a sound legal environment,reform entrepreneurial education,and improve the evaluation system.Enterprises should strengthen the relationship with local universities,build internship bases,strengthen the input of scientific research funds and achieve mutual benefit and win-win situation.
