Junior high school students are in a critical period of growth,they think about the future and have different degrees of ability to manage and dispose of their time,and this ability will benefit the learning initiative of junior high school students.At the same time the intrinsic convergent motivation of achievement goal orientation facilitates students’ autonomy and thus enhances autonomous learning ability,which in turn leads to more satisfactory academic outcomes.Using junior high school students as the research target,the study examined the relationship between the three variables and proposed educational countermeasures,using achievement goal orientation as the mediating variable,future time perspective as the independent variable,and autonomous learning ability as the dependent variable.The following conclusions were drawn from the survey study and SPSS26.0 data processing:1.Junior high school students were at a moderately high level of the future time perspective positive factor and at a moderately low level of the negative factor.Junior high school students were above average in the achievement convergence goal and mastery convergence goal dimensions,below average in the achievement avoidance goal,and at an average level in the mastery avoidance goal.Junior high school students’ autonomous learning ability are at an intermediate to high level.2.Junior high school students’ future time perspective,achievement goal orientation,and autonomous learning ability differed significantly on demographic variables.3.Significant correlations between future time perspective,achievement goal orientation and autonomous learning ability of junior high school students.4.Future Positive,Future Persistence and Future Plan significantly predicted positive autonomous learning ability,and Achievement Convergence Goal and Mastery Convergence Goal had significant positive prediction of autonomous learning ability.5.Achievement convergent goals and mastery convergent goals partially mediated the relationship between junior high school students’ future time perspective(future positive,future planning,and future persistence)and their autonomous learning ability.Based on the above research results,the following educational countermeasures are proposed:1.Cultivate future time insight and encourage students to plan for the future with a positive attitude;2.Establish the correct goal orientation of achievement,taking personal growth as the ultimate development goal;3.Cultivate good autonomous learning ability and stimulate students’ learning initiative.
