Innovative ability is a crucial skill in the current era of science and technology,and domestic and foreign scholars are increasingly focusing on research related to the cultivation of innovative abilities.China has explicitly identified digital learning and innovative ability as one of the four core competencies,and primary and secondary schools have gradually become new frontiers for cultivating innovative abilities.The development direction of 3D printing teaching is consistent with the cultivation of innovative abilities and can serve as a way and method for cultivating innovative abilities.However,there are problems in actual teaching,such as focusing too much on imitation rather than creation and putting more emphasis on operation than theory.Therefore,this study uses 3D printing teaching as a basis and the SCS Maker Teaching Method as a means to cultivate innovative ability as the core goal,aiming to provide more specific case references for relevant teaching practices.This article mainly adopts literature analysis,interview,questionnaire survey,and case study methods for research.Firstly,relevant literature was retrieved,and the research status of innovative ability,3D printing teaching,and SCS Maker Teaching Method were summarized and clarified.Secondly,questionnaires and interviews were conducted on students and subject teachers who participated in interest classes,and it was found that the cultivation of innovative ability in the current 3D printing interest classes is relatively lacking,and most teachers have hardly ever conducted teaching aimed at cultivating innovative ability.Based on the theoretical and practical foundations and according to design principles,this study proposed a 3D printing teaching design aimed at cultivating innovative abilities.After selecting suitable teaching content,the "sketch drawing" module was used as the basis to carry out 3D printing teaching design based on the SCS Maker Teaching Method.Finally,seventh-grade students who participated in 3D printing interest classes were selected as the research object,and teaching cases were designed and implemented.The research analyzed the "Williams’ Creativity Tendency Scale," "Student Work Evaluation Form," "Classroom Observation Record Form," and student interviews to verify whether this study’s teaching design can help and enhance students’ innovative ability.The analysis and summary of the application effect are as follows:firstly,all three dimensions of students’ innovative ability were improved;secondly,the SCS Maker Teaching Method is beneficial for inspiring students’ innovative consciousness,and this study’s teaching design helps to enhance students’creative thinking and ability;thirdly,the 3D printing course is an effective means of promoting students’innovative ability development.In conclusion,3D printing teaching design guided by the cultivation of innovative abilities has a certain helpful and promoting effect on developing students’ innovative ability,and plays a good role in classroom teaching.This is reflected in the improvement of students’ creativity,imagination,divergent thinking ability,problem-solving ability,and interdisciplinary ability.It is hoped that subsequent research can further expand the scope to benefit students’ innovative ability development.
