Chemistry is a course based on experiments and an important component of chemistry textbooks. The purpose of middle school chemistry teaching is to broaden students’ understanding of chemical principles and experimental phenomena. In middle school chemistry teaching in both China and Mongolia, there have been many content based on experiments.Taking the 2012 People’s Education Press junior high school chemistry textbooks(upper and lower)and Mongolian junior high school chemistry textbooks as research objects, comparative research, text analysis, and literature research methods were used to compare and analyze the overall comparison of experimental compilation, teaching books, basic comparison of experimental content, comparison of characteristic experiments, and typical experiments in the junior high school chemistry textbooks of China and Mongolia.Through comparative analysis,The "experimental" content in textbooks of China and Mongolia has their own characteristics. In terms of number and category of experiments:Both junior high school chemistry experiments in both countries are based on chapters, and the total number of experiments in Mongolia is greater than that in China. The types of experiments in both countries include demonstration experiments, exploratory experiments, and home experiments, abbreviated as three types of experiments. In addition,China attaches great importance to demonstration experiments, and Mongolian chemistry textbooks attach great importance to all three types of experiments. In terms of instrument adoption: Through a comparison of the arrangement of experimental instruments between the two countries,it was found that the images of experimental instruments in Chinese junior high school chemistry textbooks use high definition color photos, while Mongolian chemistry textbooks use images to display the theme of experimental instruments while paying more attention to the delicacy of the images; Both countries have their own characteristics in terms of materials and equipment.China places more emphasis on demonstration experiments,so it uses more experimental instruments.Mongolia attaches great importance to all three types of experiments,so in addition to using experimental instruments,it also uses more daily necessities.Overall comparison of textbooks: In the design of textbooks in China, emphasis is placed on logical rigor and completeness of knowledge, while in Mongolia, textbooks focus more on the internal connection between disciplines and the integration of knowledge into daily life.In terms of module design: In terms of comparing experimental safety education,China places more emphasis on safety education knowledge, while Mongolia places more emphasis on detailed experimental safety education; There are slight differences in the arrangement and comparison of the experimental process between the two countries;China attaches great importance to the comprehensive design of experimental processes, setting up many small columns related to experiments and making experimental operations more rigorous. However, the experimental processes in Mongolian chemistry textbooks contain a lot of knowledge related to daily life;In terms of comparing the characteristics of the experimental content,it was found that the characteristic experiments in China are related to the "solution" aspect, and the content of this chapter is rare in Mongolian textbooks, while Mongolian characteristic experiments have experimental content related to the "rate" aspect; There are a total of 10 typical experiments in both countries, through which we can recognize the importance of chemical experiments and the essential role of chemical experiments in teaching. This paper studies the similarities and differences of experimental content in Chinese and foreign textbooks, seeks characteristics, and provides reference for reference.
