| Scientific literacy has increasingly become a necessary quality for talents in modern society.As an important part of modern language teaching materials,popular science texts carry important missions including the study of scientific knowledge,the cultivation of scientific thinking,and the perception of scientific spirit.Attaching importance to the teaching of popular science is conducive to responding to the problem of neglecting the cultivation of scientific thinking in today’s Chinese literature teaching.The difficulty of teaching popular science mainly lies in the low interest of students in reading,the difficulty of understanding scientific topics,and the lack of scientific logic in writing.In this regard,guided by Bruner’s narrative teaching concept of scientific knowledge,text interweaving theory and educational ideas related to learning interest,this study intends to explore the application of "story-based theme reading" in the teaching of popular science in junior high school from the aspects of strategy and practical operation,in order to provide reference significance for improving the teaching status of popular science in junior high school and improving the teaching efficiency of popular science.Firstly,by analyzing the basic situation of popular science literature selection in the unified edition of junior high school Chinese textbooks,and using interviews and questionnaires,a field survey was conducted on the current situation of popular science literature reading teaching in junior high school Chinese internship schools.It was found that there are still the following difficulties in the teaching of popular science literature reading:students’ interest in popular science literature reading is not high,there are difficulties in understanding popular science literature reading,and there is a lack of enthusiasm in class;Teachers’ attention to popular science teaching needs to be strengthened,the methods of teaching popular science need to be enriched,and their own scientific literacy needs to be improved.Secondly,according to the current teaching situation,the feasibility of applying story-based theme reading method to the teaching of popular science in junior middle school is discussed,and the theoretical basis,practical conditions and teaching value of the story-based theme reading method applied to the teaching of popular science in junior high school are summarized.Based on this,specific strategies are proposed from three aspects:teaching design,teaching implementation and teaching evaluation.In the stage of teaching design,the teaching concept should be changed and the understanding of popular science teaching should be updated;Follow the design concept to improve the efficiency of popular science teaching;Choose the right method to stimulate students’interest in learning.In the teaching implementation stage,practical teaching objectives should be formulated and thematic teaching should be effectively carried out;Refine popular science teaching themes;Integrate relevant story resources;Clarify the links of teaching implementation and arrange the reading process reasonably.The teaching evaluation stage should be able to combine multi-subject evaluation and adopt multiple evaluation methods.Finally,it is proposed to apply these principles and strategies to carry out the preliminary teaching design by taking "Chinese Stone Arch Bridge" as an example.This includes distilling the theme of the text as "bridge construction",organizing reading materials,guiding students to read stories related to the process of bridge construction by craftsmen,scientific knowledge of bridge construction,etc.,and guiding students to summarize the reading skills and writing logic of popular science.After class,let students choose a bridge,collect information around its construction age,construction materials,artistic style,history and culture,etc.,and organize it in the form of tables,so that students can display it in class,so as to achieve the cultivation of scientific spirit and verbal and written expression logic. |
