Guided reading of masterpieces is an important part of language reading teaching,and teaching guided reading of science classics helps cultivate students’ scientific spirit and creative thinking.Reading popular science books is an important way for junior high school students to understand and learn about science and to receive scientific enlightenment,and it greatly helps students to form scientific and creative qualities.This dissertation takes "popular science books" as the research object of guided reading teaching,and takes "The Book of Insects",a recommended book in the "guided reading of famous books" section in the first book of the eighth grade of middle school language of the Ministry of Education edition,as an example.In order to improve the teaching effect of the guided reading of popular science books,we designed the teaching strategies in four aspects: teaching objectives,teaching contents,teaching process and teaching evaluation.Firstly,the direction and value of the thesis research were clarified by analyzing the selection,characteristics and significance of popular science books in junior high school.Secondly,the author mainly adopts the questionnaire method to investigate the teachers and students,and finds that the main problems of teachers are: unclear teaching objectives,knowledge-oriented teaching contents,single teaching method,and inadequate teaching evaluation;the main problems of students are lack of motivation to read,poor reading habits,and lack of depth of reading,and the problems are investigated in depth.The main problems of students include lack of motivation to read,poor reading habits,lack of depth in reading,etc.,and in-depth investigation of the reasons for the problems.Again,through the analysis of the problems,the optimization strategy of teaching guided reading of science popularization class masterpieces is proposed,and a detailed teaching design is carried out with The Book of Insects as an example.In terms of teaching objectives,teachers should fully understand the value of teaching popular science masterpieces and design them from the four dimensions of language core literacy;in terms of teaching contents,teachers should organically integrate teaching contents to reflect scientific and humanistic aspects;in the teaching process,teachers should adopt appropriate teaching methods,strengthen integrated teaching inside and outside the classroom,and enrich teaching forms;in terms of teaching evaluation,an evaluation scale should be used to combine process In terms of teaching evaluation,an evaluation scale should be used to combine process evaluation with summative evaluation.We hope that through the above thinking and practice,we can provide reference for front-line teachers.
