At present,the issue of juvenile delinquency in China has received extensive attention from the state and society.On the basis of adhering to the principle of education first and punishment second,China’s relevant laws and policies are constantly adjusted,and more and more attention is paid to the participation of professional forces.The Regulations of Shanghai Municipality on the Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency points out that social work service institutions engaged in the prevention of juvenile delinquency can be entrusted to participate in the prevention of juvenile delinquency,which provides a system guarantee for youth affairs social workers involve themselves in the educational services to minors involved in crime.From the perspective of youth affairs social workers,this research will understand what the service process of youth affairs social workers involving themselves in the educational services to minors involved in crime is like?What are the service contents?What difficulties do youth affairs social workers face?How to respond?What is the practical logic of youth affairs social workers involving themselves in the educational services to minors involved in crime?From the perspective of social support theory,this research adopts qualitative research methods to conduct in-depth interviews with 8 youth affairs social workers in Shanghai,investigate the content,process,difficulties and response strategies of social workers of youth affairs participating in juvenile education services,and then analyze its practical logic.The research finds that the support of national policies,the affirmation of practice and the professional ability of social workers themselves are the basis for youth affairs social workers involving themselves in the educational services to minors involved in crime.The process of youth affairs social workers involving themselves in the educational services to minors involved in crime can be divided into three stages:At the initial stage,youth affairs social workers made plans with goals as the first priority,and paid attention to sorting out the social support network of service objects.The basic goal was to help them pass the test period smoothly.In the middle stage,youth affairs social workers use educational activities and other forms to correct the cognitive bias and deviant behavior of service objects,aiming to optimize the structure of the social support network of service objects.In the final stage,youth affairs social workers help service objects to grow themselves,restore their sense of self-identity,and persist in improving the ability of service objects to use social support networks.In this process,youth affairs social workers encounter difficulties in the following aspects:difficult to collect information,complex situation of service objects,limited service time,etc.To this end,youth affairs social workers,on the basis of comprehensively measuring the interests,resources and norms of all parties in the service situation,should flexibly change the way of communication,take into account the role of families and peer groups,adapt to the time and people’s conditions,so as to meet the personalized needs of service objects,and help them successfully pass the test period and return to society.This series of services and practices reflect the logic of optimizing the structure of social support networks and improving their ability to use them.
