A Practical Study On The Involvement Of Social Work In The Care And Teaching Of Juveniles Involved In Crime

In recent years,the number of juvenile crimes is constantly increasing,and the types of crimes are also varied,juvenile crime has become one of the main social problems widely concerned in the world.Due to the immature mental development of minors,minors have weak ability to distinguish right from wrong and do not understand the basic legal knowledge and other factors.Therefore,for those minors who have a good attitude towards confession,have committed minor crimes and have not caused major harm to others or society,the procuratorial organ will make a conditional non-prosecution decision on them,giving them a chance to reform.In recent years,social worker’s power has been gradually introduced into the work of observing and helping the juveniles involved in crime.So as to provide professional,high quality services for minors involved in crime.Based on the researcher’s internship experience in J Youth social work institution in Kunming City,this paper summarizes the specific process of social work’s involvement in the care and education of juveniles involved in crime through carrying out care and education services for juveniles involved in crime.Social workers provided services to the minors involved in the crime to help them survive the six-month supervision period and successfully return to society.Before providing specific interventional services to juveniles involved in crimes,researchers conducted social investigations on juveniles involved in crimes and assessed their needs.During the formal implementation of the service,the researchers conducted intervention services for juveniles involved in crime once a month in the institution,with different goals for each intervention.During the period,the researchers also made telephone visits to juveniles involved in crime,observed their situation at any time,and avoided the risk of second crime,until they could smoothly return to society at the end of the six-month period.In this intervention process,researchers recorded the changes of minors involved in crime in the process of helping and teaching one by one.And through the summary of the whole process of helping and teaching,put forward the improvement strategy of social work’s involvement in the care and teaching of juveniles involved in crime.
