Lu Xun was a famous literary scholar and thinker in China.His works are an integral part of the language teaching materials in secondary schools.However,teaching Lu Xun’s works is relatively difficult.In junior secondary language teaching,teachers and students often tend to have a rigid and mechanical view of Lu Xun’s works,ignoring the thoughtfulness and unique literary qualities embedded in his works.Students have developed a fixed stereotypical impression of Lu Xun’s works,and some have even become bored with them.So,how should junior high school students study Lu Xun’s works.How teachers can enhance students’ literary literacy and moral sentiments through Lu Xun’s works becomes a topic worthy of consideration and scrutiny.This article provides an in-depth discussion of the works of Lu Xun selected from the unified edition of the textbook,in the hope of providing some shallow references for the teaching of Lu Xun’s works in junior high school language textbooks.The paper is divided into five chapters.Chapter one is an introduction,which mainly discusses the origin and meaning of this research,analyses the current state of research on the selection and teaching of Lu Xun’s works,and explains the research methodology of this thesis.Chapter 2 elaborates on the arrangement of Lu Xun’s works,comparing the selections of the Unified Edition of junior secondary school textbooks with those of the Renjiao and Sujiao editions,An examination of the distribution and general features of Luxun’s selections in the Unified Edition;analysing the reasons for the selection of Lu Xun and his works,and exploring the four aspects of language,thinking,aesthetics and culture based on the broad context of core literacy.The third chapter is a survey study,based on the results of questionnaires and interviews,which investigates the current situation of teaching Lu Xun from two aspects: teachers and students,and analyses the various problems of "teachers’ teaching and students’ learning",mainly including the lack of students’ attention,the difficulty of students’ learning,the lack of motivation in learning,and teachers’ understanding of Lu Xun’s works.It also examines the teachers’ lack of understanding of Lu Xun’s works,their overly utilitarian choice of teaching content,and their single-minded approach to teaching.Chapter 4 presents a series of suggestions for teaching and learning from both students and teachers in response to the feedback;from the actual classroom,we talk about teaching design using Kong Yi Ji as an example to make teaching strategies more practical and to effectively improve the quality of teaching and learning of Lu Xun’s works in junior secondary language textbooks.Chapter 5 is the conclusion,which clarifies the importance of Lu Xun’s works in junior high school language textbooks and points out that the study of teaching strategies for Lu Xun’s works will remain a top priority in future development.
