| In recent years,the work in the field of medical and health services has assumed a major social responsibility,but the growing demand of the people for health issues and medical services is still not in line with the economic and social development and the development of health care.As hospital patients and a special group of patients,hospitalised children are not yet mature in their physical and mental development.When faced with unfamiliar environments,spatial constraints and the pain of illness they cannot cope in a mature and rational manner and are prone to negative emotions and behaviours such as anxiety and defiance,so their mental health issues cannot be ignored during their hospitalisation.The development of medical social work is becoming more and more sophisticated,and as an emerging model of helping people,its role in enhancing psychological and humanistic care-related services has been widely proven and recognised.It is the responsibility of medical social work to create a favourable medical environment for hospitalised children and to provide humanistic care services,which is an important part of building a harmonious society.This paper attempts to analyse the problems and needs of children during hospitalisation from a social work perspective,and uses a group work approach to intervene in children’s inpatient adjustment services to explore and summarise service experiences.This paper takes children’s adjustment to hospitalisation as the starting point,and uses literature,semi-structured interviews and observation methods to collate and analyse the current situation,problems and needs of children in hospitalisation at Hospital X.Emotional stress and anxiety after admission and non-cooperation with treatment are common problems for children during hospitalisation,while children’s needs for emotional relief,social interaction,learning and recreation during hospitalisation are also found.This study is based on identifying and seeking out the psychological and behavioural manifestations of hospitalised children in the hospital setting.Guided by cognitive developmental and social support theories,the study takes the paediatric ward adaptation team of Guangxi X Hospital as an example,formulates service plans and contents according to the actual situation and needs of hospitalised children,adopts a group work approach to intervene in children’s hospital adaptation services,flexibly uses social work skills,and focuses on adjusting and relaxing tensions,reducing medical fears and enhancing The aim is to help children adapt to the hospital environment,enrich their lives,meet their learning,recreational and social needs,improve their ability to comply with treatment,and successfully recover from hospitalisation.According to the evaluation of the group work service and reflection on the service process,the group work approach is effective in helping children to adapt to the hospital environment,enrich their lives in hospital,and meet their needs for learning,recreation and social interaction during treatment.Social work can provide services to hospitalised children with the concept of helping people to help themselves and scientific methods of work,enhance psychological support,medical support,peer support and social support systems for hospitalised children,thereby regulating the negative emotions and behaviours of hospitalised children in the course of treatment,reducing to a greater extent negative emotions such as anxiety and fear in hospitalised children,improving their compliance with treatment,promoting effective communication between doctors and patients,and building The service is also designed to promote a harmonious doctor-patient relationship.However,there were also shortcomings in this service: the communication skills of the social workers needed to be improved,the length of the service was short and the sample size was too small.The findings and experiences of this study are used to reflect on the service and the professionalism of the social workers,to accumulate practical experience for the intervention of medical social work in the field of hospitalised children’s services in China,and to provide reference value for the daily social work services for hospitalised children. |
