More and more attention has been paid to secondary vocational education by our government.As an advanced concept,STEM interdisciplinary integration education has been continuously spread in vocational colleges,which has a certain role in promoting the cultivation of students in vocational colleges with all-round development,especially in cultivating those who have some practical experience and learn to use science,mathematics,engineering,technology and other disciplines to closely connect with practical skills and comprehensive qualities.In this paper,through questionnaire,interview and experiment,it is found that STEM has certain advantages,which can stimulate students’ interest,explore and solve problems,and enhance students’ operational ability.From the effect of experimental teaching,there is no significant difference between the experimental class and the control class in the pre-test.However,after more than one month of experimental teaching,the scores of students’ rating scale in the experimental class are obviously higher than those in the control class,which indicates that STEM interdisciplinary integration has great influence on secondary vocational tourism.However,because teachers don’t know much about the idea of interdisciplinary integration of STEM,they seldom use it in education and teaching.STEM teaching mode has higher requirements for teachers,and more educational and teaching resources are needed to carry out STEM integration teaching in appropriate situations.The survey of students shows that students know little about STEM,and they feel that their comprehensive literacy needs to be improved.Based on the above analysis,the improvement strategies of applying STEM interdisciplinary integration in tourism major in secondary vocational schools are put forward,including promoting vocational colleges’ attention to proofreading STEM education concepts and practices,improving teachers’ comprehensive ability to use STEM through various channels,dynamically improving students’ comprehensive literacy teaching by using new media and new technologies,establishing STEM education information resource database by various channels,and constructing diversified interactive evaluation information exchange platform.I hope it will be beneficial to the application of STEM interdisciplinary integration in tourism major in secondary vocational schools. |
