| As a special group of people living on the edge of the city, the migrant population has always been of great concern to all sectors of society, the scale of the migrant population to present a sharp growth of the urban management put forward the challenge, but on the other hand, the migrant population to promote the development of urbanization and to make significant contributions to the development of urban economy, how to keep high quality of the migrant population to become the hot topic which the cities to pursue. The sense of belonging in the city depicts the migrant population’s satisfaction with the city under various evaluation conditions in the current city, and is affected by its own objective conditions, which is directly related to deciding whether to live in the city. Therefore, the sense of belonging in the migrant population is a valuable research topic. This paper is supported by the data of CMDS-2017,a total of 21 indicators are summarized from relevant literature into five modules of identity, regional identity, group identity, social identity and other factors to construct a sense of belonging measurement index system, the Critic method is used to calculate the weight of indicators to obtain the sense of belonging to the city for each migrant population. On the summary of the existing literature, variables were selected as explanatory and control variables for personal characteristics, economic situation, and social characteristics. The Tobit model is constructed to obtain the significant influences, and the proposed conjecture is empirically demonstrated using the moderating effect as well as the moderating mediating effect model. The results found that: most of the migrant population has a weak sense of belonging, only about 10% of the migrant population has a medium to high level of belonging, and the migrant population is more sensitive to long hours of labor.Women’s sense of belonging is weaker than that of men,and the higher the level of education, the stronger the sense of urban belonging.Personal income, the difficulty of choosing a job has a significant impact on the transmission path of the sense of belonging by the level of education, when the income reaches a certain height,it has become a factor restricting the rise of the sense of belonging, and the level of education in the middle and low education migrant population group, there is no obvious impact on the difficulty of choosing a job.Marital status is an important factor affecting the sense of belonging of the migrant population, the sense of belonging of the married migrant population is generally low, among the unmarried migrant population, the female sense of belonging is higher than that of the male, and the smaller the scope of mobility, the stronger the sense of belonging;the married migrant population is the opposite.Whether married or not, rural homestead ownership weakens the migrant population’s sense of belonging. In the case of married migrants, family size limits mobility, and when family size gradually increases, migrants tend to become urban "migratory birds",choosing to rent an apartment in the city and eventually return to their hometowns. It is a good proof that the migrant population who buy a house in the city has a significantly higher sense of belonging than the migrant population who rent a house in the city, and the family size also affects the purchase choice of the migrant population, showing an inverted "U" curve. This paper discusses the research results and puts forward a series of policy recommendations to achieve the effect of improving the urban sense of belonging of the migrant population. |
