Junior high school students are the best time to master basic knowledge and basic skills,and also an important time to create conditions for future development.The extracurricular reading of the excellent Chinese traditional culture of junior high school students is an important educational activity for moral cultivation,and also an important after-school service content under the background of the "double reduction" policy.It is of great significance to strengthen the extracurricular reading of the excellent traditional Chinese culture of junior high school students to guide them to be more fully prepared to understand the historical tradition and basic national conditions of the Chinese nation,and to cultivate and practice the core socialist values.At present,there is little research on extracurricular reading of Chinese excellent traditional culture for junior high school students in China.This paper takes this as the topic,and studies its current situation,problems and promotion strategies.This paper takes junior high school students in a foreign language school in Nanning as the research object,and conducts an empirical study on their extracurricular reading of Chinese excellent traditional culture by using the methods of questionnaire and interview.The research includes three parts: First,through questionnaires and scales,we can understand the basic situation of students’ extracurricular reading of excellent Chinese traditional culture in school,evaluate students’ participation in extracurricular reading of excellent Chinese traditional culture,and on this basis,we can understand teachers’ cognition and guidance of students’ extracurricular reading of excellent Chinese traditional culture through interviews.Second,on the basis of the current survey,it summarizes and analyzes the achievements and problems of extracurricular reading of chinese excellent traditional culture of junior high school students,and analyzes the causes of the problems.Third,combined with the problems and reasons,put forward strategies to promote the extracurricular reading of Chinese excellent traditional culture of junior high school students.The research found that junior high school students’ extracurricular reading of Chinese excellent traditional culture has the following problems.First,students lack interest in extracurricular reading related to local culture;Second,the time and coverage of extracurricular reading on campus have not changed under the background of "double reduction";Third,students lack the planning ability and motivation of independent reading;Fourth,the utilization rate of excellent traditional Chinese culture books in the school is low;Fifthly,some students’ extracurricular reading purposes of Chinese excellent traditional culture are utilitarian.Therefore,this study believes that we should optimize the extracurricular reading of excellent Chinese traditional culture in school from three aspects: school management,teacher guidance and home school cooperation.At the school management level,students should strengthen their extracurricular reading of local excellent traditional culture;Improve the utilization rate of excellent traditional Chinese culture books and materials through guidance and promotion;We will expand the coverage of extracurricular reading activities of excellent traditional Chinese culture on campus.At the level of teacher guidance,students should consciously cultivate their independent reading ability of excellent traditional Chinese culture;Ensure students’ reasonable extracurricular reading time by improving the homework design.At the level of home school cooperation,parents of students are invited from time to time to participate in extracurricular reading activities of excellent Chinese traditional culture on campus;Parents supervise students’ extracurricular reading of excellent Chinese traditional culture outside school.
